Who has skied CAST extensively and intensely in the park?

How have your CASTs held up in the park? I'm sure every now and then it'd be fine, but I'm wondering if it's crazy to mount my new CASTs on my daily driver/park ski. Has anyone had anything break/ what does [tag=80659]@Cast[/tag] say about this?

Thanks

I mean how hard are you skiing in the park? The entire point of the free tour kit is so that dudes like Renne Barkered Flo Bastien Tim McChesney and others can go stupid hard in the backcountry. If they can throw 7s off of 60 foot cliffs I’d imagine they would be ok in the park, unless you’re skiing at an XGames level doing huge disasters and other really high impact stuff. DONT take this as advice because I don’t know lmao, I used mine in the park last year and they held up to big jumps just fine, I don’t do a lot of high impact rail stuff though so I don’t know how they’d do there

i'd say my biggest worry would be high impact rail stuff. not like im planning on mounting these solely to be used in the park, but was just wondering if i could ski as much park as as i wanted without worrying. that's good to hear about your jumping on them.

i have the cast but haven't really skied them in the park. they seem plenty durable for skiing any rails and jumps. my gripe would just be that your bindings are kind of a bit heavier. and i wouldn't really want to hit rails with touring skis and wear out my edges but that's just me.

No - you'd not be crazy, like at all.

being able to ski whatever, whenever is the entire point behind Cast. You would have to snap or pull multiple screw multiple screws out of the ski for Cast toe to be an issue - something I would be very surprised if most skiers would be able to. The heel is identical to a regular Pivot heel when skiing.

My thinking is that if Cast holds up for pro skiers doing massive lines (and slams) on the FWT and pro skiers doing tricks in ski movies, then it sure as hell can take whatever puny abuse I am able to dish out. As such all my daily drivers (4 pairs) are set up with Cast + second ski kits. I do not ski much park though, though that would not really factor into the decision for me regardless.

I forgot to add the picture of said ski in the previous post - here my ON3P Woodsman96s. I have yet to ski them, but have had Cast on four previous pair as well - so not new to using it at all.

That set up is gorgeous!

I wouldn't do that, just because you better to have sharp edges underfoot for touring and you should detune edges for rails.

i'm comfortable with the effects of rail skiing in a touring situation, just was curious if there was some aspect the CAST design that would present a problem if skied in the park
