Who has never smoked weed before?

I haven't yet, but I don't lose any respect for people who do smoke. I actually think weed is fine and everything. I probably will eventually try it but I don't plan on making a habit of it, or doing it more than a few times.

This is where misinformation comes from.
You've posted a link to an article written by a guy who is Deputy Director of a group trying to legalize marijuana. If you actually find the paper you'll realise that the conclusions this guy has come to are a joke.
Firstly they used NON-psychoactive cannabiboids, not the stuff in weed that gets you high.
Secondly they uses pure research grade materials, there was no smoking or any other chemicals because....
Three, the test were done on two types of mutant cells in a petri dish.
Here's a line from another acadmic paper:
"In those with transitional cell carcinoma, marijuana use significantly correlated with tumor stage, grade, and number of recurrences."

i havent smoked at all and i'm 15. i dont have a problem with weed, personally i would like to see the day that it is decriminalized and legalized. i just dont smoke.

Your argument is the same as saying that aren't any cases of lung cancer being caused by only cigarettes.
Thats what statistical analysis is for and thats how the relationship between things like cigarettes and disease are determined. And the results say weed causes cancer. I don't know what more I can say on the matter.
I'm not hating on people who burn because that would make me a fucking hypocrite, I drink and go through phases of being a smoker/non-somker (just not pot). I'm just laying out the facts. Ignore them if you want, I do (at least I do on alchohol front and occasionally cigarettes).

How is it the same, you can easily find lung cancer cases caused by tobacco, you can't find any for marijuana though. I'm not ignoring facts, it's a fact that nobody has ever died from it and it's a fact that it doesn't cause cancer.

I dont follow, why do we have so many statistics of deaths/cancer due to cigarettes but none due to marijuana? like i feel like if this strong correlation between marijuana and cancer was proven wouldn't the media be parading it around like they do cigarettes?

This I don't know. I don't know who decided to go on a crusade against tobacco but the evidence and link between cigarette's and cancer had been around a lot earlier. Same with many other issues that people outside of academia just aren't aware of. The results are there. As weed is illegal and mostly done privately it doesn't get in the faces of the holier-than-though sort of people who like to hype this stuff up. Besides, the world's got far bigger problems than people getting baked right now.

Did you read the articel?! This is a quote from the article you've put forward as saying weed doesn't cause cancer:
"Another study showed that concentrations of D(9)-tetrahydrocannabinol compa- rable with those detected in the serum of patients after D(9)- tetrahydrocannabinol administration accelerate proliferation of lung cancer cells"
Anyway, the cannabinoids they're using are pharmaceuticals that are given in controlled doses and not smoked. Nicotine also as medical uses... but not when its from a cigarette! In fact, nicotine can help in treating breast cancer but that doesn't mean it does not cause cancer. And once again, it wasn't smoked.

You are ignoring the facts. I've put up evidence from independent peer-reviewed academic articles from highly regarded Journals.
Where is your evidence that it does not cause cancer?

"Cannabis has been linked in a dose-dependent manner with elevated rates of myocardial infarction and cardiac arrythmias. It is known to affect bone metabolism and also has teratogenic effects on the developing brain following perinatal exposure. Cannabis has been linked to cancers at eight sites, including children after in utero maternal exposure, and multiple molecular pathways to oncogenesis exist. Conclusion. Chronic cannabis use is associated with psychiatric, respiratory, cardiovascular, and bone effects. It also has oncogenic, teratogenic, and mutagenic effects all of which depend upon dose and duration of use."

And let go to the third sentence; "including children after in utero maternal exposure"

So mother's smoking marijuana has been shown to give their unborn children cancer and in particular: childhood neuroblastoma (OR = 1.8, 4.7),126 rhabdomyosar- coma,45 and leukemia (OR = 11), particularly non-lymphoblastic leukemia,127 in cannabis-exposed pregnant mothers

If thats not evidence I don't know what is.

Ok, you keep showing me all these studies that say that it increases your risk for cancer but you STILL have not shown me a known case of cancer caused by marijuana. Just because one of the many studies out there says it is cancer causing doesn't mean it's true. You are the one who keeps ignoring the facts.

I'm not going to go and pull out quotes from every academic paper on the link between marijuana and caner because they're thousands of them (3742 on my first search).
If you can find a reliable source of information that has evidence to show there is no link between cancer and smoking weed I'd be interested to read it. But your not going to because a)it doesn't exist and b) you seem about as bright as Alaska in December. And by reputable I don't mean a guy who runs a legalise cannabis campaign with no medical or scientific training with no clue what he's talking about (we've already had that).
I'm not telling you not to smoke pot, I'm just giving you some reliable info about what it does. My drinking and flip/flopping between being a smoker/non-smoker probably does a more damage than the occasional joint. It'd be nice if cigarettes and alcohol weren't so bad for you but they're not, I accept that and I do it anyway. Its my choice but I'm not going to go around telling other people that there's no harm in it because that would be bullshit.
The fact is marijuana is dangerous, there's no two ways about it and spouting a load of complete crap, with no evidence to support your claims, on a thread for people who don't burn and are mostly kids is just DUMB, and thats why I'm correcting you. I'm also posting because a bunch of people have been jumping onto this thread and saying that pots great and doesn't do any harm. Its this minority of idiots that result in people associating weed with idiots and general douche behaviour, even though most people who burn are not. If kids decide to smoke then fine, its their choice but they shouldn't be making their decision partly based on a bunch of info thats complete bullshit. And this thread is overfilling with steaming mounds of it. Personally, I think its a dumb choice but its a dumb choice I've made a few times; enough times to know that I think getting high is a boring way to spend an evening.
If you choose to believe that pot doesn't do you damage/cause cancer then fine, but thats your BELIEF and despite what you might have heard in fairy tales things don't just come true because you believe in them.

This is the last time I'm going to post this because I said it 15 times. You can not show me a case of cancer caused strictly by marijuana use. I don't give a shit about how many scientific articles you can come up with that say it causes cancer, there has still never been a case. So stop showing me article after article and show me a lung cancer case proven to be caused by only marijuana use.

People who smoke weed have a much higher occurrence of cancer (and mental illness, heart attacks, emphysema, chronic bronchitis etc...). If the logic step from this fact to weed causing cancer is to much of a mental leap for you then I don't how else I can explain it.
The quotes I've put up aren't my opinions, they're the results and opinions of World experts in the subject. They're pretty adamant marijuana causes cancer. You think that you know better and that all these experts with their PhDs, research labs, clinical data etc... are wrong.
I don't know what preconceptions you had at the start of this thread but thinking someone is wrong is no reason to stop thinking.
Most people can bring something to a discussion but I think the best thing you could bring to this thread is your silence.
Go find a cake to talk to, they're baked too.

hahahah shut the fuck up.

see i guess some people dont know what weed does because they havent tried it. but it doesnt make you act like a retard. it doesnt make you deflate and stick to the couch. in fact, you can do whatever the fuck you want to do while stoned and it just makes it 180 percent better.

i'm pretty sure i would remember to put a condom on if i can drive my car around better than 90 percent of the people on the road when i'm high as fuck

and whoever said "thats like saying find me a case of when cigarettes only caused cancer" ... just wow

join the club! i smoked a few times when i was skiing with some people and it was fun but my legs felt heavy and i didnt try stuff i just cruised the park. but boy was i high then lol
