Im lookin at buyin a refurbished touch from apple, has anyone bought one before? Serious karma for good info will be given

about two years ago, and it doesent work today, i had a pretty bad fall skiing and i thin thats what did it, it might have been the cold

just about all my ipods i've bought have been refurbs and they've all worked fine until i started skiing with them . Don't ski with mp3 players that have hard drives , buy something that has a flash drive (?) like the 2g and 4g ( i think) .

also buy it through apple also and definantly get an extended warranty through them , that always saves you .

i got my vid refurbished. perfect, no scratches no problems. except it doesnt shut off right now. but ive had it since christmas.

most refurbed stuff have just small knicks and dings or whatever during shipping to dealers and what not. when they get w/e it is fixed they cant sell it at reg. new price (im pretty sure) so bying refurbed stuff is always the way to go if you can.

I've owned a refurbished first generation Shuffle and second generation Nano. They both worked perfectly.

My friends buy refurbished shuffles and they have no problem at al with them, although its considerably more low tech than a touch. Apple is fairly trustworthy so I would go through with it.

i've bought 2 and both are still working like 2+ years later. I couldnt even tell it wasnt new when i got them.

great thanks everyone! I ski with a shuffle and have never broken it, but have gone through 2 and I think I just lost my third-so easy to lose.

Seems like a good investment

has anyone else had problems with their ipods skiing ? in particular 30g and 80g or any that have harddrive not flash drives

i was just gonna go buy a refurb one. kids sell them so expensive on here, when you can go buy one through the apple and get them probally in better condish, and alot of times cheaper

i bought a refurbished ipod and it was like a new one but however the only thing with buying a refurbished one is that it is used so the controls and ipod in general is slower to react to switching songs, pausing and playing, etc

i have only heard good things about the refurbished stuff from apple. I had a friend that bought a refurbished mac book from them a while ago and he says it has been perfect. I would fully recommend buying anything refurbished from apple if you can get a good deal on it.

Refurbished is better than new. You know it's been fully checked over instead of just coming straight off the production line. Most Apple refurb is just customer returns anyway.

I bought a refurbished 30g zune a long time ago, and it still works great today. I use it skiing, and it still works great, and it doesn't have any scratches on the screen. That doesn't really help for apple, but it shows that refurbished mp3 players can last a long time.
