Who has an apple cider press?

A friend of mine and I are thinking of building a sick little apple cider press. Tis the season to guzzle the good stuff, preferably unpasteurized, and we want to bottle our own ambrosia. I know how a press works, and roughly how we are going to build it, but I was just looking for pointers from kids who have some experience.

I went to the local orchard today and got a gallon fot he shit and some cider donuts. Sooooo dank.

I wish I knew more about it though so I could help you

dude, cider donuts are the best, especially when they are hot and have just been made. cinnamon sugar! nothing like hot cider and fresh cider donuts on a crisp fall afternoon.

we were gonna make cider but decided to switch plans at the last minute and get into making beer. we were gonna use a grape press which i believe you can get from most local brewery stores.

basically just a fram with a tray at the bottom with a big sturdy siv sitting in a bucket to collect the cider. above that you have the press which is a threaded presser and a threaded hole to keep the presser secure.

so basically you stick the apples in and start screwing down to press all the juicey juice out of them? Sounds like what I want to build, but I don't yet know where to acquire the screw.

stolen from the post a pic of your GF thread in LM. Sorry nicholas.
