Who had the best first Job?

i am a coach for my local freestyle team teaching kids how to be steezy and just skiing the park and mountain with them. only saturdays, 50 bucks a day

I worked on the beach, I got to drive a truck around and clean up. Pretty much made my own hours, made bank, and got to honk at bitches in bikinis.

i worked in a hobby shop, i used to be huge into racing r/c cars,i would go whole race seasons with all first place finishes when i was like 13 and would come into the shop two or three times a week to buy parts and new kits. while i was there i used to talk to the owner about racing and shit, and would sometimes help out customers and shit if the shop was too busy. eventually he just gave me a job and basically paid me to work the register, hang out at the hobby shop all day and play with r/c cars, and fix them for other people. on top of that, he gave me the password to his dealer site and just let me order anything i wanted for myself, all i had to pay was the manufacturer price, i could buy $700 cars for like $300. i woulda done the job for free if he wanted. all i did was play with toys, use my bosses really nice tools all day, and talk to other people about r/c. i dont work there anymore, but to this day i still go once in awhile to hang out, and he still gives me a discount on anything i buy.

i worked at a water park all summer last summer. sometimes we would go in the park when it was closed and turn rides on and just party, that was fun.

when I was like twelve a started a paper route at my cottage lol,
buy the papers from a marina then boat them around to some people it sounds stupid but i was making like 180 a week for 7 hours work

that's what i did this last year, but then i realized that all my skiing time was devoted to small children, it can be kind of fun, but it's my senior year and i'm really trying to ski as much as possible with my friends before college

i was a soccer ref, 20 bucks an hour, but really boring. i kind of hated it, so i quit. now i just kick it and work on commercial fishing boats in the summer

Who says that just because you have money means that you shouldn't work? That mentality is down-right stupid. What are you going to put on your college apps? Colleges and universities want to know what you're doing during the summers, and if you've been sitting on your ass your entire life, chances are you're not going to get into the college that you want. What are you going to put on your resume when you apply for your first job at 21?

OP: Lifeguard. Great job, es muy divertido, hoping to get my WSI certification in time for next summer.

theres a TON dude. and they do rock.

in upstate NY theres like one every 15 miles.

danny wegmans summer home is near my house on canadaigua lake and its fucking enormous. beyond what is even believable for a house.

i worked at my temple....lol yeah. so basically i got paid by my rabbi to sit in a room with like four big screen tvs, two xboxes, and a wii, plus all the games i could ever want. i went for like three hrs and got paid 12 an hour to play xbox with kids. BEST FLIPPIN JOB EVER!

I'm 18 and I work outside service at a golf course. Its a private course so I know most of the people that golf there. I wash golf carts, clubs, stock the range, fold towels, organize members bags in a garage, etc.. I get hella tips and its a fun summer job. In the winter I only work one day a week so I have the weekends to ski!

Im a waiter type person at a dining room in a nursery/assisted living home. Its pretty cool i guess everyone is pretty chill and around my age (17). The most tables you can get is 2 tables of 4 people or a table of 6 and a table of 2 so its not to bad.

trampoline coach.. its the tits i get to sesh whenever i want the the people that work their are awesome.. annd the pay is sick for someone whos in high school

biochemistry lab- purified hemoglobin from red blood cells.
made runs to the local fishery to collect fish for extracting their blood, took them back, extracted the blood, then ate the fish for dinner.

Started working at a ski shop when I was fifteen. Still work there...sixteen now. Talk about skiing all day, have chill managers and employees, hot rich pittsford girls come in regularly, cheap equipment on pro form, talk to reps about skis and next years stuff. Number two in sales and I'm only behind someone who works nearly full time at the store while I'm a student. I like my job.

First job was lining soccer fields, when I did the math I got payed $22 an hour under the table, would make 4-500 dollars easy a season and when your 14, you don't need much money to be happy.

now I work for a very fun company but only get payed roughly $10 an hour on the books.

TAXES SUUUCCCCKKKKKKK

my first job was picking strawberries in some feild to pay for my skis when i was 15. it sucked

swim teacher. $10 an hour to sit around in a pool and tell kids what to do. flexible hours, we can just choose not to work for whatever sessions we want. pretty sick

Not sure how many there are, but they are only on the east coast. Most are in NY and PA, the farthest north is Mass. I believe and farthest south is Virginia. The new one in Collegeville, pa is the shit haha

worked at a real nice golf club for a couple years they payed me well and golfing for free at one of the higher end golf courses in the county wasnt bad either! plus discounts on golf clubs and appearel and free food!

Washing golf carts in the summer. Mad fun. Hot out, spraying water around, got to gold for free. Find random stuff in the carts sometimes money. We used to drive them around the corner on gravel to park them and go for the biggest drift. Jump some of the sandtraps and tee boxes sometimes. My friend destroyed one pretty well once, he got the boot

We weren't old enough to drive yet. Gettin payed cash too.

My first job on the books was snowboard instructing.

That was pretty epic too.

They made this new rule at the mountain that year, that you worked in shitfs, and you weren't allowed to free ride on your shifts. so we took over this dungeon room downstairs in the lodge and pimped it out.

We brought in lockers from an old school, couches, tables, a giant old tv on milk crates. Ran an extension cord down and hooked up all the video games.

Got payed minimum wage to play 4 player, bond, cards and whatever else. Our buddy would stop by while delivering pizzas to hang out, and usually brought us some food.

Once in a while you had to work, but we were literally getting payed to do nothing.

Such a sick job, and we were all on the same page. We didn't have any of those serious people in the group that hate fun.

Park crew is sick though. You actually have to work a lot but building jumps and setting rails is fun.

I work as a mate for a sport fishing charter in the summer. Such a sick job. I get paid $100 for ever trip... they can last between 4 and 24 hours. most of the time we do 4 hour trips. Get a shit load of tips. Fish big tournaments, make even more money. and just have a great time with alot of super cool customers. I love it and its not alot of work

yeah man, i love working in my shop and im 16

the pay is pretty shitty, but the deals i get are so baller

i sell sooo much, but i mean most people in the shop (especially the higher ups) sell a shit load too.

i've sold 8 smith helmets so far. smith is running a thing where you sell 7 helmets and get one free. so im getting a free helmet!!

i worked as a ski instructor when i was 14 and now i work at a bike shop, both jobs have been so sick, i look forward to going to work cause it's so chill

this. i was a lifeguard last summer. best gig ever cause we had a small beach (it was more of a pond). but everyone working there was super cool and we just sat around and yelled at little kids all day.
oh and rainy days were the best. we just sat in the beach house and got paid for playing cards

isn't the greatest 'job'... but i got more money than i ever could have imagined for 15 years old.

i work at wegmans, have been since i was 15. it pays decent, you can pretty much set your own hours, and the managers are really chill. it's boring, but it's a job
