By stuff, i mean your skis and whatnot. i'm going to Colorado in like a week (stoked) and can't bring any of my stuff because of how expensive it is to bring it. Not that my skis would do any good in the tons of snow Co has, but whatever. i think loveland had some AR6s last year to rent, and A-Basin might have some twin tips.

Anybody else can't bring their stuff?

When I head out to Utah I normally bring all my gear. But, if you plan ahead and call some places you could probably find some wide twins to mess around with while you're there. It's always fun trying out different pairs of skis.

I don't know if you're planning on bringing your boots but you really should bring them. Skiing in boots you never skiied in and that saw a bunch of other users is not the best experience.

yeah im going to germany for 2 weeks with my family and then staying for 3 weeks with out my family and they are making me send my skis home with them

at most airlines, skis (which count as a ski bag holding up to 2 pairs, and a boot bag) count as one bag together, so it would just cost as much as a single extra bag, which is maybe $25. rentals for demo skis are around $45+ a day, so i just bring mine

That's dumb, just pay a bit more and bring your skis, why pay to rent shit gear??

I'm going from WA to CO tomorrow and I'm bringing 2 pairs of ski, boots, 3 coats, 3 pants and all my shit, and then a suitcase with clothes and other non-ski stuff. On Southwest ski bags are free.

all you gotta do is be creative. depending on how long you are going for. like if you are going for a long weekend. you ski bag and boots are considered one checked bag. so pack your skis and boots and your clothes for the weekend. wear your ski stuff on the plane, and bring anything else you need in a carry on. as long as your ski bag is under 50lbs you should be good to go. or even wear your boots on the plane and have shoes in your carry on, once you are on the plane, change em.

i like the idea but i think security is gonna think something is up when a guy is going through security with his ski boots on and all ski gear and if you make it through security have fun sitting on the plane for however long with all your gear on.......

definitely bring your own stuff. My first trip out west I didn't bring my stuff and rented boots and skis. It was terrible, the skis rode like shit and the boots hurt my foot. And the worst part is that you are paying so much for the pain lol

my roommate just flew with his skis for $30 on United. Im pretty sure you'll spend more than that on demos

I refuse to travel without my stuff. having your own boots is key and most demo bindings are just scary as shit. but im lucky and live in canada where there is no extra charge for up to 2 bags. but id pay a bagage fee anyday over renting.

well the best way to go about doing it is a few days before you leave box that shit up and send it UPS to the address you are staying at.. then u get there and walah.. your skis show up. still costs a litlte bit but not as bad as doing it on the plane.. a guy i work with does this every year..
