Who else is getting extremely sick of truck drivers?

Yeah I'm tired of all these supposed hard grabs that look lame and everyone does 'em. I like stuff that looks clean.
 
now i liek you mr. yeti. Its good to c kids mixing it up a little bit here and there. I totally know what your saying. Sure truckers look dope and stuff, and i imagine they are hard as fuck with a cork 9 or whatever, but they are so played out its not even funny. I think people need to bring back the body position no grab tricks. Like when t-hall does his no grab cork 3's. I think in general grabbing is over rated unless your grab flows with the trick. A grab i like doin for cork 3's is a left side spine with a critical, but grab right ski with left hand and take it up to true nose. Thats some dank shit
 
word, no grab status like eric pollard shit that just looks fucking steezy....tanner does dope as no-grabs too.

but thats not to say all grabs are weak. i honestly dont like the mute grab much anymore, because like the truck driver, its getting played out. thats why people like charles gagnier are so sick, the true nose is wicked sick. but he doesnt throw JUST that, he also throws whatever the space between true nose and mute is, tails, mutes, etc....he doesnt spend his whole time doing switch 1080 truck drivers, because as we all know, switch 1080 truck drivers = the weakest thing in skiing since jonny moseley mad trix
 
Nah i totally agree with whoever started this thread. They were fresh when dumont started doing them last year, now its just like there overplayed and boring. Id rather see a japan or critical over a truck any day.
 
i still like truck drivers a lot...and i think they are pretty tuff with out a shit load of air...keep doin em!
 
this is directed to most of the critics:

you fuckers think you can tell the sport where to go? if you want to see something happen, get your skis on and show us. you hate the direction the sport is going? how about telling us a direction youd like to see it go?

as for seeing too many truck drivers out there, why do people still bother doing mutes? havent you seen enough of them?

man, dont hate the grab... a well done trucker in anything will never be gay or played, the only time its gay is when somebody does nothing but truckers in everything, that goes for any grab too... just everybody vary it up

man i love drivin my truck. and if you dont well you can go ... do something else. lol. im not gettin tired of them im just gettin tired of people being ignorant about what a truck driver actually is. i.e. grabbing double mute with thier legs tucked. but when its done right with an off axis spin....ohhh its heaven.
 
you are fucking stupid. they are a difficult trick and make everything look nice. every other grab is used just as much or way more like mutes and blunts and safetys are you getting sick of those too? and johnny mosely doesnt have shit to do with truckdrivers adn neither do backpakcs, those are old, this is new so eat a fucking dick fag

Exactly, and as for who throws the sickest trucks it has to be jon olsson, in teddy bear crisis he holds them forever, only lets go just before he lands and in the bonus footage he tweaks one out to the side, it looks sick as fuck. They only look good off axis though, on normal spins they just don't look right
 
i love truck drivers, but id be just as happy if people started throwing true noses, i.e.

Actually for someone with short legs, like myself, double true noses are waaaay easier to get than a truckdriver with straight legs up close to your bindings. thats the technical shit. I guess they look good corked with straight legs but thats it. A flat truckdriver is pretty gay.

Although, anything behind you(true tail for example) is fucking waaaaay harder. Take a long look at Rainville and Candide. End of story.

yup uhm steezy as shit with say a nice cab rode 5 or corked shit but uhm no the little kids who are doing the flat 3s with it. shits just getting played out and ugly. grab should only be aloud when corking yup.
 
I like how grabs can now be "played." The mute grab has been around since the beginning of time, almost every pro does them in the movies, almost every kid does them on their hill. But the mute grab isn't played, I guess.

The truckdriver comes along and really starts to show up this season, thanks to the Dumont. A few pros start doing them, and a bunch of kids try doing them, and suddenly its completely played.

I'd also like to see these legions of people doing truckdrivers. Where are they? From the vids I saw, they weren't at the Candide Invite or the JOI. I think they really aren't there. I think that just because its a new trick, it stands out. I bet in any given park there are more people doing mutes and true tails than truckdrivers.

For the record I think they look sick as fuck when the person is corked and completely boned out, but they are kind of lame if you are regular. I'd like to start seeing them in rodeos and flatspins.
 
trucks can look sick. looks better when you bring your legs out to the side and grab the tips, rather then just bending at the waist and grabbing the binding area.
