I'll get to barrow my moms or dads car a few times but other than that, im on the 1st bus to get to school woohoo. my gayass bus picks me up at 6:45 and gets to school before every other bus.
 
my grandmother is trying to sell her truck

it is a half bed mazda manual trans that gets 27 to the gallon

if she can't sell it, then i will probably get it
 
so you get stuck at school all day??? that must suck

everytime i have more than an hour between courses, i go to my appartment to chill out
 
i was supposed to get my learners permit today

but because i'm under sixteen and homeschooled, i need a letter from my umbrella school

so i get it tomorrow
 
senior in high school, not college. and to the other kid that said buy a car, i dont have money to. i bought new ski crap
 
i didnt say i desperatly wanted a car. i said i dont have one. and i had a job over the summer and i am not taking out a loan
 
cars are overrated anyway. nobody is going to look back at high school and remember you riding the bus. i ride the bus everywhere, mass transit ftw dude.
 
how do you get through highschool with out a car? and how do you blow all your money on ski gear so you can't afford one?

get your friends to drive you until you can afford one.

im gonna top that. no car + no license. i have to wait until i get my passport for a photo ID and its taking a long ass time. Canadian Government tongues my balls
 
I'm a senior in high school too. I have a car but it never gets used often because I'm doing online classes at home this year. If I was going to regular school I'd either get a ride from someone or ride the bus. Saves a lot of gas and it's free. Bring and iPod and just chill
 
If you live off campus is basically is unless you wanna sit around waiting for public transport and longboarding in december.
 
Ummm Hi, my name's Jen and I'm a sophomore in COLLEGE who's never had a car. But I have two other things: friends & feet. Work like a charm.
 
is that not what a college fund is for? I don't see what's so sad about parents and family setting up a college fund for you.. obviously you're not going to pay for skis, gas and liqs with that but that's why you get a job. I bought a truck before I'm out of HS so I don't have to worry about paying for that while I'm in college. and I have assez des skis. So I dunno it seems like it would work for me..
 
Whats wrong with that? You make it sound so bad. I wouldn't say my parents are "rich" my dad is just a smart with his investments and finances and built up mad equity and created a college fund. Go cry somewhere else and stop hating on people being supported in college by their parents. For the record, my parents pay tuition, rent, and food. I do everything else.
 
My college is in the middle of nowhere, its the only college giving a course that specializes in aeronautical and i live 30 min from there so yeah a car is a necessity for me, and i work my ass during college to pay gas and everything so im not spoiled at all
 
oh... i have a car but no license, im buying my parents old suburban on a payment plan that will be finished by the time i get my license, so i have half a car

and in Europe the trains are much better. at least in Germany I took teh train to school every day and it was sick.

seriously? fuck off. quit trying to make kids sound like some spoiled kids because their parents care about them enough to set up college funds and manage money correctly for them. my parents aren't rich by any standard but my dad set a college fund for me early and knows how to spend money wisely. i got a car before college just recently and it will be payed off before i start college...quit being an asshole for the hell of it.
 
That's the short and sweet of what I was trying to say. And frankly that's how it should be. How the heck is anyone supposed to pay for college if it's basically impossible to get a job that pays more than $20 an hour sans college..?
 
ya im not rich by any mean,s but my ada payed for some of my car and such i pay ags, and they are paying for college for now(jea com col! 3k a yer)
 
I don't have a car. but my dad said he would probably give me his 96 5 speed accord EX. I love that thing.

other than that, I have 2,000 to spend, and with that im gonna get a shit car.

so I hope the accord works out.
 
Word. on NS it seems unless you're paying for EVERYTHING you're a rich spoiled snob... My parents are supporting me now because that's what parents and family do. no, they're not buying me everything and anything I want but I work for those sort of things. If they're still supporting me in 10 years.. then yell at me all you'd like.
 
dude youre worried about affording JJs? im worried about affording any skis that are the right size for me
 
im a senior with an 08 jeep....i kinda need a car though because my school is 30 min away from my house and i dont have a bus...but whenever i have a free period i usually just walk or longboard around to get food or whatever....i dont really see a huge need to have a car if you live relatively close to your school/job....i would much rather live 10 min from my school and just longboard there everyday and not have a car, especially with the price of gas around here
 
hey pal im right there with ya. except i have a car that stares at me...longingly....sadly...everytime i leave my house cuz the fuckin police gots my license. never to be returned

im a sophomore and i got a car. fuck ya. i had to work hard for it and it was worth it so obviously its not that big of a deal to you to ride the bus.
 
i lost my license and when i get it back on october 14th i wont be able to get a parking permit so i fucked, but you can take out a loan and buy a car.
 
i saved up for a car from the age 12 up until a week before my 16th birthday and i bought a 2000 jeep Cherokee sport so save up all your cash for almost 4 years and you can buy a pretty dece car
 
I'm a junior with no car. I wouldn't mind the bus and such if i didn't live so fucking far away from everything and if taking a bus into town didn't take like two days of planning
 
stop whining you little bitch, most people have gone through it. i was in the same position as you except the thing is my dad has 3 cars and wouldnt let me drive any of them, taking the bus is fine, you may not look as 'cool' as all the other kids but you'd save a fuckload of money on gas.
