Who Drives a modded import?

^ opps again the delta was introduced in the late 80's as a group b rally car. another sweet machine would be the E30 M3

your stupid. thats not photoshopped. look at the tires, theres grass blades there. not that that isnt too hard to do, but most wouldnt bother.

now look into the paint? what do you see? trees, thats right, and exactly the same kinda trees as in the background.

bottom line, it is a real pic, of a very ugly RX8.

RX8s are gorgeous cars, with a huge attention to proportion and form. Very few if any body modifications can keep or improve on the cars gorgeous appearance, so why waste money ruining the appearance, while the drive line is left pretty much untouched?

what's everyoby's opinions on importing an Rx-7 or Skyline from japan? Are these cars usually abused? They're all super low km's ( 70k and bellow, that's 40k miles and below) and are cheap... 6000-7000 for twin turbo beasts. But, they're also 15 years old, due to import laws. Hook me up with some info!

looks like a sixer to me(i know the later model trans ams had the raised wing, not sure about the earlier ones of that style). feel free to prove me wrong but upon further inspection of that last pic i can only make out one tailpipe.

the problem isnt the initial cost in buying the car or even shipping it to america. the main problem is the modifications that you have to make to have it be street legal i the us. this process costs 10s of thousands of dollars and takes upwards of 6 months

most r34 skylines cost about 60k upfront plus 40-50k to convert and about 6-12 months time

I had a whole thing typed up.. but i lost it and cbf re-typing it..

but to the guy with the wrx, a 12 is still feasible through a VF34 turbo. However, having fun breaking gearboxes as anything that surpasses 180kw is gearbox-a-week depending on your driving.. and if you plan on racing it/launching it.. bye bye third!

alrighty, here is some real info,

A R32 GTR will be between 15-20g's for you, GTS-t will probably be 10-15, maybe cheaper if your lucky. The km will actually be around 80-120 depending, and you will most likely have some minor body stuff to deal with, or dumb things like ripped seat bolsters, no radio etc. You will have to do some basic upkeep things to get it ready, and to pass an OOP which you need to register you will need to add daytime lights and some other minor shit like new brakes etc. There is no real way to tell if the car has been beat to shit or not, so use some common sense, if it has a cage and a shit load of mods, its been flogged, look for a mostly stock car, and go through a reputable dealer and you should be alright. Hope that clears some things up for you.

If you dont believe what i just said, scroll up to the pics of my car on the other page and look closely at it.

lol ^^

also don't believe the KM reading, as 99.9% of the time it has been wound back on imports..

Imports are fun.. beware of wacky old school japanese setups.. dodgy extra injectors and weird fuel programs etc

I've got 2.

1995 Eagle Talon TSi AWD

6bolt motor (original motor crankwalked at 60k), ACT 2100 clutch and a MBC. 14.079 @94mph in the 1/4. It's my winter car now. Lol.

1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo.

Red, T-Tops. Was originally an N/A car but was swapped with a 1994 with pretty much all new parts. Brakes, motor, trans. I never took it to the 1/4 track, just Auto-X's. But it runs dead even from a roll with an Evo with just an exhaust. Mods are a boost controller, HKS Fuel Cut Defender, and a Magnaflow exhaust with a custom downpipe.

Yup they do that, teach you to buy a DSM lol. I like MR2s but they feel kinda weird when the ass gets out, not hard just different to what im used to. Do you find that your MDC has mad boost creep, mine is pissing me off but im cheap.

I hate ricers. my friend spent like 10 grand on a car, and then 8 grand on mods. then his dad went bankrupt. they live in a trailer now, but at least he has a sick car

Alright, radio I can deal with, I've already got a stereo.

But A couple extra thousand to get it road legal, forget that.. unless if it's already been done? This dealer I'm looking at;

http://www.importconcern.ca/

Says that "All Calgary stock vehicles will have completed Alberta out-of-province inspections prior to sale". This means that the cars ARE road legal, no?

And up there^^^ someone said 60 k and 6 months to get it road legal...are you sure? In Canada, you're allowed to have a right side driver.

bwahah your buying a car through Christian, sweet, which car etc. The 6 month thing is bullshit and for the states anyway, those cars are road legal as by the time Christian gets them all set up he has already had them inspected(ish) his guy is a little shady though. Thats whom i got mine through though.

dont forget you get what you pay for aswell, pictures can sometimes be decieving, where do you live? Some of his cars can sometimes have less then perfect bodies, and then some are super nice, there will always be little niggling things though, for example my window didnt work and i had a ding on my door, and a cracked sideskirt when i got mine. I fixed them but if your not into that kinda thing it could be annoying. Also check out world car link, i forget their website, i think it might be worldcarlink.com, its kinda a shady looking site, but the guy Andrew actually picks out the cars himself works on them himself and ships them to lethbrigde. He spends 6 months here (i think he is here now)and 6 months in japan. Also Redlineimports is out of Edmonton, they use the same auctions as Christrian, but i was told to go to them, they guy seemed really cool to when i talked to him aswell.

Eh, I had boost crep bad in the Talon in the past. Replaced the o2 housing with a good flowing one, and it made a world of difference.

MR2 doesn't creep at all.

ya me 2.. i meen like im gonna try real hard it might not happen but im atleast gonna get like a 240 or something.
