Who do you feel sorry for on the mountain?

Title says it all.

I probably feel most sorry for kids with those shitty power parents who push their kids way too hard.

Also snowboarders who lose momentum on the flat, pushing with the back foot for ages must be terrible.

So, NSers, who do you feel most sorry for on the mountain?

The younger kids trying to progress in the park with everyone making fun of them and putting them down. Don't know why but it just gets to me.

Lifties or Caf workers, both would probably rather be doing something else and both get treated like shit too often.

The racer kid who have parents who only care about winning and yell at them every time they do anything wrong. It's got to take the fun out of skiing.

I feel sorry for myself. I have to watch everyone else suck it up while all the nubs get to watch me turn on the after burners and leave gapers in my snow dust

When I see a Man/Woman skiing with their significant other and they suck and they're just standing there waiting.

I wouldn't feel bad for them. They're with the person that they want to be with, it wouldn't bug me if I were in that position. There's plenty of other days to shred pow/park

kids on leashes, thats gotta suck

I see how you think skiing on leashes is self contradicting. Skiing is meant to be free but also the parents put the leash on the kids so they don't ski away but they are so little that they don't care. Why feel bad for the kids?

I feel bad for the people that travel and can only spend a weekend skiing. It must suck having to leave a resort to go to work or school the next Monday.

The kids who think it's only about being good in the park. I used to think like that, but thanks to Newschoolers my whole mindset on skiing has changed, I just hope one day they find out it's not about being good, it's about having fun

Newschoolers did this to you? Hmm

Kids who care way to much about what other people think of them and try to make fun of others to boost their self esteem. (Pretty much every 13-18 y/o park rat haha)

lifties on a pow day

the parents of kids that suck but make there parents buy them full saga outfits

and kids that get made fun of because equipment

and kids trying to progress but get made fun of

some of them already stated above though

The people who are so caught up in showing everyone else how good they are and how cool they look with all their new gear. Skiing is supposed to be fun, it's not supposed to be like high school

Sort of related to what other people have said, but the kids that don't hit/try new stuff in the park because theres older kids throwing rodeo's and 4's on and they feel intimidated. I know I felt that way at first and then i sort of just said fuck it and realized that 95% of those kids don't really care if your best trick is a 3.

This. I raced in college and some of the kids on the team's parents would still come to all their races and do that shit. I felt so fucking bad for them. I mean, holy crap, your kid's racing for University of Minnesota-Duluth, after this is done their racing career is over except for beer league (except you probably made them hate skiing so much by now that they won't participate), how do you not see that?

I feel bad for little kids whose parents are yelling at them. I don't know why I see this going on so much at ski resorts but I have noticed an unusually high amount of parents yelling at their kids when they don't need to be yelled at. It sure isn't gonna help them enjoy the skiing experience.

People whose family/friends are teaching them how to ski and clearly doing a shitty job.

Snowboarders on long flat cat tracks.

Resort employees on pow days to an extent, but at the same time we usually still got to ski more pow than anyone who doesn't work at the resort.

Injured resort employees. Been there, it sucks ass.

A gaper that is trying to go down a run they have no business being on. Or the person who had a gnarly crash with gear 50 feet above them

Ski instructors teaching new kids how to ski on an epic powder day. That's gotta hurt

The trick is to instruct in the midwest where pow doesn't exist.

I feel sorry for those skiers who only have snowboarder friends.

Also snowboarders it must suck to be a snowboarder.

People who are skiing for the first time and don't have the right gear or help but are trying really hard to get better.

It's not that bad. My best friend is a snowboarder and she kills it. I'd chose riding with her over anyone. Only shitty thing is waiting for her to bind in but i've gotten over than. She's faster than me so it's worked out pretty well in past years. Snowboarders are on the mountain for the same reason though. Theres little to no reason to hate on them.

We have all seen those snowboarders that take forever to bind in at the top and their skier friend is just sitting there bored. I'm mostly joking about the second part except for when your snowboarding on flats that just looks crappy.

i'm sorry for those guys on their 40s/50s that used to be really good at racing/skiing. come on man you're not the king of the slopes and don't talk shit about me just because i have powder skis and my clothes are kinda sagging.

I feel sorry for me. That said I feel some changes coming.(No I'm not going to become a woman)

There might be a move in my future.

More common than you think. Cats do that a few times outside. I know this because I used to cook up the bats they would bring in.

I always feel bad for Dads skiing by themselves. I always figure the rest of his family must not shred so he braves it by himself for the sake of the sport :'(

When tourist get put on skis that are only good for ripping groomers and its a pow day. They already paid a shit ton for their vacation and they already have to suffer with being not the best skiers, but at least give them skis that are suitable for the conditions.

Cool story bro

People with early season injuries. Broke my ankle last week and can't ski for more than 2 months. Plus its snowing in SLC

Not sure what the big deal about gear is, especially outwear, people take the piss outta people wearing saga pants and jacket and what not, and also the people who make fun of people with shitty gear too, who cares man, if you like saga buy saga, if you don't care then buy whatever, feel bad for the people who take gear too seriously and are worried about getting the piss taken outta them, you can still wear saga even if you can't spin 7s or 1080s

Wear whatever ya want man!
