only centermount an old pair of twins that you wouldnt otherwise use. you dont want to be on a pair of centermounted skis unless you are on a rail or in the park. its pointless unless you have an old pair that no longer serve a purpose. if you do, go for it

I ride 1' back of center for ski performance. riding in the center is great for jibbing but not so desriable for all mountain especially if u ski the deep stuff on the steep stuff.

I think center mounting is kinda' pointless unless you ski fakie all the time. But I am a fan of mounting an inch back of center because you can still ski, rails are easy, and fakie in powder becomes a lot easier.

skimack has it right. some skiis its even advantageous to mount 2' back of center especially if you ride something like the really good v-explosive!

easier to spin when center mounted. is this 5cm (2') forward thing just a dumb rumour.

I mean I oculd understand eric pollard doing it cause he does a lot of switch BC skiing but to ski like that normally would just suck.

If centre-mount is that much easier to spin, then why do aerialists not centre-mount?

because of the slope of the ramp and landing. if they had more tail and landed in tha backseat on one of those steep landings they would snap the ski and really hurt themself

True. Still, if one of those guys can do a quadrule backflip 1440 on set-back skis (even though they are 150s or something), you shouldn't have a problem spinning on set-back regular skis. My V-Pros are mounted quite a lot further back than my Skogens but I have no problems transferring tricks to the V-Pros.

the beneit of center mounting is really felt on rails. with spinning it makes certain grabs easier, but not necessarily easier to spin. that has to do more with weight and ski length. the tighter form u can make to spin the faster u will spin

Center mounted skis generally ride better switch too.

Can we not make lame comparisons to aerialists?

center mounted skiis do carve way better swtich. the ski fine on GROOMED! however in the BC I find that they suck!, and suck large!

there should be a half length line or marking on the side of ur ski. then move the line back one inch.

my bindings are mounted 5-6cm forward from the center point. easier to ride fakie.

Play it hard.

Put the ski where the loine says to, not any futher ahead, it will fuck up the way it turns and the way the ski is supposed to ski.

gun control means using 2 hands

depends on the ski boss. on skiis designed to be centre mounted the line is in the centre. on my old 1080 the line was about 2' back of centre (thats an estimation from memory it could be farther back)

my volkls are 1 inch behind centre which is where the line is I think.
