Yes, they were made by Raichle

And Yes, they have ratchet straps like snowboard bindings.

They were only made in 2001 I believe.

why did line stop making boots anyways?

I remember jason answering that question in the ns interview thing, but I cant remember his answer

^ yeah I'm not a big fan of the ratchets, but the rest of the boot is awesome. I'm always careful with the ratchets because they're not like a normal boot where the latches just come over. The 1080 boot is a little lighter but these are so comfy for the park.

those boots are dirty. i love mine. i dont ride um, cause the buckles are broke, but i may try to fix um, just cause they were so great.

True dat. How do the boots perform? Everyone says they're ugly, but no one really said much about their quality as a boot. Just curious.

I love this boot, it might look like shit, but it performs like gold.

It's definitely a park specific boot though. Never had shinbang with it. It's nice because if you look at the back, there is a part where you can adjust the stance of the boot. So if you like a more progressive boot thats angled less forward, you can. And if you want a traditional boot thats fully forward thats cool too.

It's just comfy overall. A lot of flex. maybe a little bit more than the 1080, but a little heavier.

they arent rear entry. they are rebadged Raichle flexon. they were so popular because they had a really nice soft progressive flex. line stopped doing them because the market wasnt big enough. the biggest problem with the flexons is the plastic is crap and they tend to shatter.

Yeah, if you look at Raichle boots now (which are only snowboard racing boots because they sold their ski division to Dalbello) they look a lot like the Transfer.

ive been using that boot for the past 3 years, sure you have to replace parts every month, and everynow and again the shell, but it was comfy. i did opt to abandon it for a pair of avanti 9's which i cant wait to use. they seem to have the same flex and forward lean that has become so important in boot selection ever since the transfer.
