yea slick rick is pretty damn good, jay-z has some of the most intelligent rhymes, eminem is only good when he is serious, i hate his shit otherwise when hes just dickin around. 2pac and biggie are both sick too.

No offense, but guys like 50 cent and the game should not even be mentioned at all. Sure, the beats that they have absolutely no part in making are sweet.. but their rapping ability is elementary compared to some of the greats.

Are we just considering rappers here or people in the hip hop genre also?

Tupac, Rakim, Nas, biggie, zion i, some of the guys from battle axe records (swollen members, haiuku d tat), snoop, jay-z, jedi mind tricks, art of fact.

He spoke with so much passion it was intense.

Same with snoop. While I feel some of the newer stuff he is doing is absolutely horrible (drop it like it's hot), if you trace him back he has amazing talent.

for the dude who said stopp naming all the commercial rappers...all these rappers have more credit than those others like 7l and estoric because they are better..Yes, they are all good rappers that i listen to now. but you ahve to go back too all their stuff and realize that bigge, tupac, talib are popular rap artists who just dont rap about sex/drugs/rims. etc..and they make it big..it takes talent to not rap about htat stuff and make it big
