The thing with good charlotte is they were just trying to get some core people to listen to a more core music. what they accidently did is pick up stupid popular chicks and make them think they are punk. and when they wrote lifestyles of the rich and famous, they werent rich and famous, that is the song that did it for them

im goin the 25th down in k zoo mich. And they arent big and sellout at all, ive fuckin been to two of their shows, and they thanked everybody for gettin their cd, whether they bought it, stole it(not gettin any money), or burned it or d/l their shit offline(unlike the big shots in the music industry. i agre that their second album is a little too pop, but in most bands cases, their second album is usually their worse. i listen to them because they have amazing voices. when joel and benji sing together it is amazing, they are twins, and that makes for a perfect harmony. also, billy and benj are amazing guitar players. go to a show and u will too see that they can rip on their shit harder than almost anybody out there. they arent like a lot of the mainstream hip hop where all they do is talk like fiddy. they have musical talent, and they are real chill guys too, i talked with them for like a half hour before one of their shows

I saw them on the warped tour the first year they were on it before anyone knew who they were, and I thought it was one of the better shows I had seen. I got the CD after that and I did enjoy it. Then they're second CD came out, and it was just awful. They're first CD had more soul to it, and the second CD just sounded like they put a bunch of half ass ideas together... so generic. I really have a hard time calling them sellouts, because if you've heard the first CD, you would hear them talking about making it to the videos, or the movies, whatever. They wanted to make it big and make a lot of money. Not that I like what they've become now, but it was the goal they were trying to reach. I'll never buy one of their CD's again, or pay to go to one of their shows, currently they're new music is shit.

 
Sellout? I heard them two or three years ago and they didn't sound like much good, so I didn't give them any of my time. Then I hear them recently and they sound exactly the same, so how have they 'sold out'? Why don't you just leave it as a band that you don't like? Why make accusations like that? Their 'punkness' is not in question, nor should it be. They are musicians, end of story. What is wrong with playing a certain type of music that twelve year old girls happen to like? Disrespecting bands very fucking 'punk' of you.
