Who actually rates people's karma?

I guess I use it for both retards and good members. I'm kinda curious to if/how other people do it.
Do you rate people down a lot for stupid shit? (Like I might get for making this retarded thread)
Do you up people's karma for smart posts?
Do you up people's karma for posting pics of things for you, describing gear, sexual favors, etc?
How much do you lower/raise people's karma if you do?
Maybe this should be in site discussion, but it's more about whether people are lazy, take revenge (Liek I'll totally give you --------Karmz 4 not agreeing with me), give props, or whatever.I wonder what the average "People rate me" score is too...
 
i either do 10 or 0....... a 10 is when someone helps me out or is just legit or helpful... 0 if someone totaly fucks me off or is just being douche, but i dont drop all that often
 
10 for help/info, a good laugh, legit thread, or if i feel like it

0 i've only given out like 3 times, only for total absolute retards, i'm pretty easy going mostly,

a 10 if you help me, or if you happen to really help some other member. I'm not selfish with the loving, if you help out any other ns'er in a good way, you'll get some karma.

If you make racist/sexist remarks, are an ass, or just post stupid crap, you get a 0. But it has to happen a few times. I never immediately mark someone down.

And then there are the random people who i previously had at 10 or 0, and i'm indecisive, so they get a 6.
 
i will rarely give a 0 (only to those who really deserve it). i give 10's when i've been helped significantly or really appreciate something from somebody. otherwise, if there's one smart or funny post i'll just raise it until i'm above their average and i see the numbers go up a little bit. later if i see something funny and i already have the person at like a 7 or 8, i'll boost it up even further for being a consistently member. my favorite members all have 10's of course. same thing happens but in reverse for bad posts, if it's just one annoying post i'll bring it down slightly but they might gradually earn a 0.
 
im almost exactly the same as you.except i guess sometimes the blatant racism/sexism really gets to me so it's kinda immediate.but for real, if somebody is helping anybody else out, i usually hook it up.
 
I don't think I have ever rated anyone's karma. I don't even really notice it if I'm being honest. What is the point of karma points is what I am trying to ask?
 
i seem to give all the girls on NS less karma because they all have a overly high karto to intelligence ratio, simply because they have pink names....
 
I only rate 10 or 0, I've rated like maybe three or four people 10 for either uploading a cd or making me laugh really hard, I've rated a few people zero for being serious omega douchebags. Some guy talking shit about smoking cigarettes, some guy talking shit about smoking weed, and Wh@t because he made a thread about how terrible Muslims are (which I agree with), but then said he was a Christian and therefore basically admitted he was just being a douchebag and bashing Islam not based on their attrocities (most of which have also been commited by Christianity), but based on the fact that they are the "enemies" of Christianity. Which is basically why he was saying Islam was terrible in the first place.

Periodically, like this in this thread, I will go through and bump everyone up or down. I don't think I have ever given a zero, I start at 5 and if I come across a post that annoys me again, it moves down. Awesome people will get awesome 10's with one post.

BTW - The exception is that well written thought out posts when I don't agree will get a 7 or so
 
yeah for me its either a 10 or 0. 10 is if you helped me out, made me laugh, or just whatever. 0 is if your retarded.
 
hah remember the guy who tried to start the 10 000 karma club? i think that everyone who opened that thread and took time to read those few lines dropped him a zero
 
I give 10's to helpful / hilarious people and 0's to idiots. but they can always redeem themselves because i forget what they did usually
 
i never give or take away karma, to be honest i think its really stupid because then people get really caught up in it.
 
i rate either a zero or 10, rarely 0 though, i'd say most people have me at 0, posting your opinion on this site doesn't help your karma...

I only hand out 0 or 10's because i know for a lot of people including me, if you were to rate me an 8 right now, my karma would go down because my average karma rating is above an 8. Some peoples might be different but thats my reason and im sticking to it!
 
yeah as most of the people in this thread, i give either 10's or 0's...

0's if youre a complete douche/alias, 10 if youre informative and/or funny
 
you should get an icon dude, itll help more people notice your post, read them and if theyre helpful give you +k!

If it something that makes me laugh (picture or smartass comment) I'll usually give them a 6 or 7 or so, if its a well written thought out post, I'll go for like 7 or 8, sometimes 9, and if it something really well thought out/meaningful I'll give them a 10.

If I see something pretty dumb I'll usually knock off a point or two.

Basically the only time I'll give someone a 0 is if they're obviously a troll

the problem with karma is people get craploads for posting videos or pictures, but their contributions to the forum could be sh*t...

I totally forgot to put my own number in here. By the way, it has gone down since I made this thread, just like I predicted. It's at 6.81 now, and used to be above 8... That's amusing.
Thanks for the responses, looks like pretty much everyone responding to this that uses it has a similar use for the system.
So do you guys think it's angry noobs that lower it? Because a bunch of people posting in this thread have ratings that seem a bit low for their quality of posts.
 
my karmaz is all over the place today i was at 6945 w/7.31 average

then it went to 7001 w/7.34 average

now somehow it got to 6936 w/7.27 haha i didn't even give an opinion

the system is crazy
