Um, my sister was born in Cameroon if that counts?

But if you look at it, aren't we all African-American? We just came over to America at different times.
 
AFrican American is a racist term. thats like assuming that every black person comes from Africa. Is it impossible for a black person to come from Austrailia, or Cambodia, maybe even Papua New Guinea, or southern Asia? I'll stick with black thank you very much.

I was specifically asking about africa. If I wanted to ask how many black people were on NS I would have said "how many black people are here on NS".
 
Prolly not there ace....my family originated from Hessen Germany back in the Medievil time in the feudal of europe and didnt come to america until 1666!Im not sure where you got that info but its not correct.
 
i think what hes trying to say is your family didnt just pop up in germany. like the first people ever came from africa... dont you watch teh discovery channel

the reason your complection isnt black is because when your ancestors migrated from africa to europe, over time the small amount UV rays from a more northerly latitudes compared to the large amount of rays more towards the equator reduced the pigment in your skin.
 
I think he means how the first humans evolved in Africa, meaning every human on Earth is technically the descendants of Africans. So yes, he is correct.
 
why would our own people have slavery if we all originated from the same continent....does that question not make sense to you because from what im comprehending here is we pretty much were dicks to our own people(nothin new about that i guess)drove them through hell and what just now we come to terms with ourselves that we all originated from the same place!
 
back then, people had no clue of evolution, they believed that god created white people, and black people, and not just people that have adapted to the different environments they migrated to.

we havent necessarily come to terms with ourselves, but we have investigated the idea that we all originated from the same place (africa), and more or less proved it.

 
We should prolly just call a truce then cause i see things differently and i dont want to make seem like im disrespecting your beliefs but ya well it was fun for while it lasted!
