Whitewater Ski Resort?

Anyone ever been or ski there? It's pretty out of the way and boasts about 400 inches of snow annually, this year with 458 inches. Anyway my father and I are looking to go there since at Christmas since it won't be packed like the big well known resorts. Just wondering what the snow was like around Christmas? Terrain seems to be some great tree skiing? Basically looking for more info on the place.

Been skiing Whitewater all my life, and I don't ever want to ski anywhere else.

Conditions around winter vary every year, like it will anywhere. This past year it snowed all year, pretty non-stop. I skied 4 days a week all winter, and i counted - I skied 4 days that there wasn't soft snow. I think lift tickets are around 45 bucks a day or something, so its very manageable. Nelson's a sweet town too, sure you'll like it.

Check my vimeo page and take a look at my gopro edits (http://vimeo.com/wahngraeme/videos) - they're (mostly) all filled in bounds in the trees. If you have any other questions - shoot.

whitewater is the tits man! i go up there with my fam every year and meet some canadian kids and have a blast!!!!!! even when there isnt 3 feet of fresh snow its the bees knees

Whitewater is a super good hill, lots of good snow. But the slackcountry there is what makes it so good. And with the new glory chair it got quite a bit more lift accessed terrain.

whitewaters the coolest vibe. with the new lift in last season it expands the terrain that much more.

grew up skiing here the best for big mountian and pow shreding wouldnt recommend it to a park skiier cuz there park is like 3 or 4 features and a little jump.

This place sounds dope. Revelstoke without the crowds and publicity. I want to go there now.

How's the snow around Christmas? Could it be a huge bust? Will probably do this last minute, really dependent on the snow.

depends from year to year, but my christmas, they normally have a good amount of snow.

i myself am gonna wait for a huge storm to head up there this season. i only live 3 hours away, so i can catch it on an epic storm cycle

roadtripping north for the powderkeg this saturday! Leaving thursday and cramming 10 dirtbagger college kids in a tiny motel room. Sounds glorious. been waiting for this for years, so stoked is an understatement. Any other NS'ers around for the Kootenay cold smoke festival?

i was going to partake in the coldsmoke this year, but I just learned that I have a poker game to attend on Sunday.

Avalanche conditions are really, really sketchy right now. not sure if/when they'll bounce back, so be very cautious on where you choose to ski over the weekend.

but there's some sort of a poker event for the festival itself... on-mountain is better than indoor tables, no?Yeah, I rented beacon/probe/shovel for the weekend although we are only planning on inbounds. The Steven's Pass slide certainly spooked me, but its been a dicey winter all along. Conservative is key, but I'm just excited to be in interior BC for the first time.
