Yo, this has nothing to do with ski equipment but I thought this would be the best forum to chuck it in. How much do freestyle playboats cost in the USA and Canada? Looking specifically at things like Bliss-Sticks (Flip Stick, Blitz and Slick Stick) and things like the Dagger Super Ego, Prijon Delerious and Neckys. Any help would be cool. Also, what's the second hand going rate for a Blitz over there?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but here on the northern hemisphere, all the water is frozen... sorry...

Phatt Tim- Being a whitewater man, I would think the best thing to do is to just kinda search around on the internet, find a couple of arbitrary outfitters in the areas you would like to know the price, and just call them and ask. The shitty part about this is that you may find they are cheaper.......but what are you gonna do, have them ship it to you for 200? Probably not justafiable, you're better off looking in your vacinity. I went through this last year and thought about buying on the internet or driving a few hours to get one. IT's not worth it, just wait for a sale and go for it.

The average price of whitewater boats is around $1000 USD, with Necky usually being a tad under, and Dagger being a little over.

hey check out Mountainbuzz.com Then check out the classifieds. They are plenty of boats for sale.

As for new Daggers. They are about $1000 usd for the G-Ride.

Hope this helps.

sweeeeeeeeeet, I'm gonna bring mine over and sell it for one heck of a profit, haha, boats are cheap over here.

boatertalk.com has a good gearswap forum..

and used boates go for 300-650 usually... new ones are about $1100. If you're going new, be sure to demo a Riot Air, its sick.

I paddled the Disco but didn't really like it, have seen the Air but didn't really like the look of it either, I'm more into Prijon, Perception or Bliss-Stick.

Yo timmy, Defintetly sell your Bliss stick over here dude. You'll get way more for it. Im not a huge riot fan, i have paddled a crap load of there boats, and i don;t really like them. (i C1) I paddle the disco, air, booster, and blah!! not my style. Perception ain;t making any freestyle boats any more.... since they merged with dagger. Flip stick is a sweet baot from what i've heard. I like the Liquid Logic stuff... super easy to thrown down tricks, like butta. The New Necky Chronic looks like it has some mad potential too. I've got a Pyrahnna Sub 7 one ball, but i'll probably only use it for another season then i'll slip into something shorter, and bouncyier. Damn Kiwi, our river's are frozen...all i get is a public pool once a week.

Yo Kev, sweet as man, I will. The flip-stick really is a super sweet boat. A little low in volume if you're wanting to run big water as well as just keep it real on the waves and in the holes. Have you seen the new slick stick?? It's much like the flip stick but is a lot smoother on the edges, more aggressive and I think slightly smaller. Very very cool boat. I like the Blitz but will have to move to something else soon I think, maybe next season.

One of the guys I paddle with has a Sub-7 pro zone, it's a super sweet boat dude, so quick on the spins, almost like it wants to spin rather than sit there, no effort at all to get it going aye, I liked it a lot! The Dagger Super Ego is also a pretty wikkid boat, don't know what it would be like for C1. The only thing I didn't really like about it was that the knee wells and the deck comes up so high that you always smash your knuckles on it with a short paddle. And it's fairly unstable, nice boat though.

Have also recently tried the WS XXX, a little old but still a super sweet boat, very small and quick to cartwheel, initiates very well. but it's got like nearly 0 volume so it gets pretty worked in the big stuff, but yeah, nice wee boat.

But yep, Bliss stick all the way. Hey Kev, you should try a Flip Stick for C1. I could get you one mad cheap from over here, like seriously about US$200. They're made over here so there's like thousands of second hand ones around.

Anyways, keep it real, peace.

$200? Are you serious? That's pretty amazing, how much to ship? I paddle a Disco now and love it, but if you can get flippys for $200, i may just have to hit you up on that deal. a used flip-stick goes for at least $600 over here.

i didn't come here with pants, and i'm not leaving with pants

and yeah kev, that Necky Chronic looks pretty sweet... Necky's have a super slick hull, they surf like no other.

i dunno about play boats but you can get some deals on creek boats. I have a used Perception ARC and I got a real good deal on it. I'm looking into getting a wavesport mutant or big ez.

Oh, shit I spelt something wrong? Fuck you cocksucker!

The Necky Chronic is simply a rip off of older Dagger technology -- ie, the G-Force. The Vibe, on the other hand, will be one of THE boats to have next year. The outfitting is nuts -- huge metal bar down the middle, to prevent oil-canning while doing aerials. In fact, they had to shorten it to slow it down, because the pros were olleying too high off the water! Plus, the Vibe will have removeable fins, which will make it super-sick in the ocean. How do I know? I worked at Necky all summer.

200 bucks !! Sweet...that's a wicked price. Im i light guy, but i'll def check out a Slick stick...if it's a smaller version of a flip stick that be wicked... the store that i work in the summer carries Bliss Stick... so i might be able to try one out. Kayak Style anyway. Ahh man i can't wait till spring rolls around!!

I've seen a couple of the Phyranna's with removeable fins and stuff, can't say I liked them too much though. The whole idea of beach surf kayaking for me is the hell mantis flat spinning, speed baralling down a wave and keeping it real. I found the fins more of a hindrance than anything else.

And yeah, Bliss Stick is made in New Zealand so they are VERY VERY cheap over here. You'd buy a brand new flipstick here for about US$6-750. And a lot of British and American paddlers come here for kayaking holidays, buy a boat and then sell it here when they leave so there are a buttload of them around, very cheap. And yes, the Flip Stick is a super sweet boat. And I'm sure going for a Slick Stick next summer.

Hey Kev, you reckon if I got an export license I could send them to you and we could sell them cheaper and undercut the shops making millions of dollars and quickly take over the world?

Hey sounds like a solid plan to me dude. I'll set up a little shop in town. I do live in Ottawa which has one the best bang for your buck nig play feature rivers in North America. This is paddle town. Iv'e always wanted to own my own shop.......

my guess if kevin ownes it that he will just paddle in all his stock and no one will want to buy the shit bc he wil fuck it all up, yes thats wut will happen, then u will loose money, hahaha, no that sounds like a wicked good plan even if i know shit about this, but it sounds like an awesome idea, and for anything thats worth selling,

don't make fun of my spelling!

yeah search the forums for people who are selling. You can get a good used boat pretty cheap if you put some time into it. I picked up a used wavesport EZ this summer for a great price after a month or so of shoppin around

I am not doing the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JP Auclair

That is one weird ass boat, here's the piccies for anyone who's lazy:

s6x-frontfins.jpg

s6x-sidefins.jpg

s6x-bottomfins.jpg

Obviously it's a pretty die hard play boat and would probably suck or get completley eaten in any decently sized water but hot damn, that would rule in the surf!! Check the removeable fins on the side and bottom, that would just carve hard out on a green wave, sweet! But at only 42 gallons and 6'1 long you'd be in for some hell spankings when you get worked in holes, haha, pretty sweet though

So what tricks and stuff are ya'll throwing?

The deck design looks very similar to the Dagger FX. Actually, with only 42 gal, the boat might not be all that retentive.

It also doesn't appear to have very aggressive rails either. I wonder how good it will actually be. Looks pretty swish though.

The Dagger Fx with the 2 vloume pods on is ridiculas....it's like a pop can... it so retentive someone is gonna drwned in a big hole somewhere in that baot cause it never gonna let go.

Ya my Sub 7 has rails like that i was kinda skpetical at first....but i find it pretty loose, and it 'supposedly' allows for a flater surface area on the bottom for bigger bounces etc.

I guess bigger bounces makes for bigger airs and flips and stuff, hmmm, could be a pain in the ass too though, haha, ah well, looks pretty cool

And you're right, it could lead to some mean hole stuckage problems.

Ok, the FX def. could be scary won't let go in a hole kind of a boat. The G-Force 6.3 is pretty bad itself, which is a boat I paddle. The Pyranha boat, at 42 gal, might not be quite as bad.

You guys are talking about all those aerials and shit, you REALLY need to try out the new Neckys. The aluminum channel bar down the middle of the boat absorbs energy, and then pops it back, letting you olley stupid big. Billy Harris was getting easy 4+ feet in the air, under the hull on the proto 6'8' Vibe. That's why they *had* to shorten it to around 6'3' or so... WAY too fast, too bouncy. He was completing double Donkey Flips (ie, California Rolls or aerial barrel rolls, but not sure what the double is called) on the proto Vibe.

Fuck this, I'm going creekin'.

haha, I'm still quite happy in my Blitz for the moment, there ain't nothing that filthy heap of plastic can't do

In my c1, i can spin left and right, cartwheel, offside cart is a little skethcy, i'm working on Blunts, Backstabs, i really got to get my bounce down pat to throw the bigger tricks, and i can loop sometimes in a good hole. Im not all that great, man i really can't wait till spring rolls around.

Sounds like me, back to back spins in waves, pretty sketchy in big holes but ah well, can get about 3 cartwheels before I flip over, sometimes get blunts and have the bounce but can't quite do anything with it yet.

Do you guys roll normally or do that cool backdeck roll where you start at the back and swing forward? I just learnt it and it's pretty badass.

hell yeah, the backdeck roll is super quick and good. Can get you out of some messy situations. That'd be pretty stylie on a C1, haha, wikkid mint Kev. Do you paddle at all sitting or not at all? Does it make it weird having all that foot room up the front?

i kneel and sit on a saddle. And you better believe it looks damn stylie..lol The good thing about haveing all that room upfront is that being 6'ft i can fit into some boats that i might not be able to so well with my long legs and big feet. I could barley sit in my boat kayak style when i got it...it hurt soo much.
