i mite go to plattsburgh for school next year, i need to know if whiteface's park and pipe are good. what size tables and rails, how many hits about in the park and is the pipe any good. does anyone know about the ferries that go across the lake b/c i mite do that and ski at smuggs but its like 20 bucks pur trip

on their site they said they had a superpipe. i take small walled pipe to mean no super?

I was there in January and the Park was just ok. There weren't even any rails out. The hits weren't maintained very well and it was a weird spaceto put it.

Whiteface is better for reg skiing, unless they actually open the Slides someday!!!

Go to Vermont, Stratton and Jay have awesome parks

 
there is a bridge across lake champlain up in alburg, about 20 minutes north of plattsburg. but if you go way up there id suggest going to jay peak because from alburg its like an hour. from alburg to smuggs is probably over an hour. cant tell you for sur but thats what i think. but jays park sucks. smuggs has it all icredible woods. amazing pipe. and next year there is going to be a sick slopestyle course where the big air jump was. te coure is going to use the full tbar and have 3 jumps and some rails. they are also getting new rails this summer. so smuggs i would say is stepping it up.

moral of my story, get a seasons ferry pass, cross in plattsburg save like over 40 minutes in driving. or get 2 cars and leave one on each side of the lake so u can travel the ferry as a foot passanger for like 50 cent.

I went there late January and they had a trap rail, a flat to down rail, and a like tabletop rail which was kinda weird. I remember two small tables two mediums and like one bigger but nothing huge. THey had a couple tables with two takeoffs and the pipe was pretty good maybe they just groomed it when I got there but it was 'Olympic sized.' Other than that it was super cold.

one time i went there it was right after a competition so the pipe was amazing, perfect, and the park sucked... icey and whatnot. but overall a good time

i was their for a comp in the end of feb and the park was pretty bad, the trail they have it on is incredibly skeeetchy...like it was really narrow and curved around and there was steep woods on one side, rails sucked, pipe sucked, one wall was bigger than the other, both undervert

but that was when i was there

move to montana, the closest park i can ski is 3 hours away. whiteface sounds pretty sick, my brother goes to school up there somewhere and says its super fun when there is snow, and if there isnt snow, the park is decent enough
