Whiteface water ramps?

I will post this in ski gabber if i need to. Anyway i heard that whiteface has water ramps open in the summer. First of all is this true? do they have them open to the public and can you just pay for a session? how are they? are they good for trying a lot of new stuff on or just flips? My friend an I heard this and if it's true we're pretty stoked to go in the summer.+k for help
 
idk if whiteface has them but up in the lake placid area they do have them and they are like 1 week sessions and idk how much you pay or anythin but they do exist
 
Placid does have ramps and they are def good for learning stuff. But you need to pay ramp fees and I think you may need to be a USSA member too. I think that they used to day 1 or 2 days sessions on a few weekends in the summer but idk if that is still around. Your best bet as far as having an awesome time and getting the most bang for your buck would be to sign up for a week at Ohio Dreams. http://www.ohiodreams.com You get ramps that have more of a park jump shape to them as compared to an ariel shape at Placid plus this year there is going to be a summer rail setup, an olympic tramp, not to mention 2 full skate parks and a dirt jump course if you are into biking/skating.
 
yeah i would direct to ohio dreams cause they have single day sessions. and i dont think you have to pay a coaching fee. also, depending on where you live ohio dreams might be closer. look into that.
 
They are roughly 25 minutes away from whiteface. A couple of my friends have gone to them and liked them. You have to register to be able to jump. and its fairly expensive if i remember correctly.

well your going to need a few things first: a ussa or usasa membership (usasa is cheaper I think) And you will also need a lifejacket, old skis and boots you dont care about, and a helmet and a wetsuit maybe. Theres a coach that works fulltime there so you dont need to do a camp if your going alone or just with some friends, hes the man. And you can by ramping by days or get a week pass if you want.
 
thanksim already a ussa member so thats goodwill be alright if i just use my regular skis and boots?i mean will it wreck them?is it required to have a coach or can u just sesh it alone with some buddies?thanks a lot man ande ++++++++++k to u
 
alright word, well you can use your normal skis and boots, but you will wreck your boot liners becuase of the water, and you may even break the skis you are using (but if your light chances are you wont, I havent broken any pairs yet) And you are required to have a coach, but if your just going with some friends then they will set you up with the coach thats there full time (but hes a riot and always fun to be around his names ritchie ask anyone who has been there before about it)
 
Ritchie Morgan is the man! he'll take anyone and everyone who doesnt have a coach. its also sweet cause hes fine with newschool tricks too, some coaches prefer aerials.
 
Don't go to ohio dreams! I watched videos of the water ramps and they just looked scetchy. They bubbles they put out are in a tiny circle that you can easily miss. The water ramps in Lake Placid are much better, sure more expensive, but much much better. They recently re-did their skimmer and single jumps with new Snowflex. When they did that they made the single jump hidrolic, they have 3 settings for the jump, down, freeride, and arials. The coach that is with you (Richie if not your own, he is the man) can change the jump for you at any time. It is defnitely worth the money and you are guaranteed to have a good time and learn new tricks. Lake Placid is much better than Ohio Dreams for water ramping.
 
meh i dont know. everyone who i know thats gone to ohio dreams has also been to lake placid. every one of them has said they liked ohio dreams better, mostly because they are more park oriented and not aerials. ohio dreams also has nice snoflex too, with a wider less sketchy inrun. bit idk, i havent been to ohio dreams yet so i cant speak for myself.
 
ohio dreams is sick nasty. i havent ever been to any other water ramps but i cant imagine a better set up than the one in ohio

yeah Ohio dreams is deffinitly more park oriented instead of having an arial style jump which is sick. But if you live closer to lake Placid than Ohio, Id go to lake placid
 
Hey, I respect your opinion and all, but if you haven't been to Ohio Dreams and hit the ramps then you can't talk. Sure Placid and Park City's ramps are good, but I've hit those as well as Ohio Dreams, and I definitely like Ohio's the best.

i am going to a water camp this summer and i have been debateing betwween ohio and lake placid and this is what i have found out.
lake placid has one jump you can hit that has hydryloics so you can hit begginer freestyle or aerail jumps. they also have a number of olympic trampolines which is why i am going there over ohio
ohio on the other hand has 3 diffrent freestyle jumps landing in water and they claim they will have 4 rails set up seprately...
they are both about the same price minus the ussa membership

ohio is also going to have an olympic tramp this year and you are going to get more hits/ramp time in on the ramps at ohio than placid. ohio will also be more of a camp feel with more activities to do.
