WHITE PASS EXPANSION IS OFFICALLY A GO

Good for you white passers, I only went there twice. Once it was a nice chill day and the next day it was blowing like 50 mph~

Ill have to hit it up sometime, always like skiing at different areas~
 
yes!! finally...this is gonna be insane. anybody have an idea what the projected timeline looks like?? are we talking 2yrs? 4yrs??
 
in the seattlepi article about the expansion it says that work is expected to begin next april and continue for about 2 years..not too bad I guess considering they're gonna double the area...plus build a parking lot! hah! can't wait-that proposed map looks really good
 
alright, so wp just sent out their email about the expansion...

"Construction

will include two chairlifts, a mid-mountain lodge and 13 named runs

in the open sub-alpine basins of the expansion area. Plans also call

for a new parking lot that should accommodate nearly 1000 vehicles.

Site preparation work has been underway since the September 9th

decision. McCarthy expects to open the first chairlift on opening day

of the 2010 / 2011 season."

i'd say worth the wait...but i just hope it actually is done by then. gonna be siiiick.

 
This is fantastic news, it's nice to see WP get what they were promised in the 80's. It only rains at WP though, even more than baker...Stevens and crystal are where its at.
 
that is so PIMP. does anyone hike up to those areas now? haha i was just about to post this. i hope it dosent raise lift tickets, i know it will though

it has never rained on me when ive went there the past 2 years.. well last year it did for like an hour but that has been it and ive been up there practically every weekend... soo...... i mean im not gonna argue with you or anyone about it but whenever ive went to crystal, the snow is always ice... but stevens on the other hand is sickk as hell

 
haha^ ya the funnest day ive ever had at crystal it was 50 degrees and it felt like water skiing cause the snow was so wet, every other time it was icy
