Anybody from whistler ? I'm from California and I'm headed up the Whistler for the first week of January, how are the conditions? Should I bother with bringing my pow skis?
 
Yup I'm still having fun but there are rocks everywhere. I'd bring up whatever skis you're the most okay with getting scraped to shit.
 
I'm here on vacation right now, I mean the actual skiing is way better than anything I would get in VT but its still not great, and nowhere near as good as the other times I've been here.
 
found waist deep snow all the way down to creekside from the top of kybers.

other then that it has been terrible, parks looking on point though. whis park at the bottom of crabapple now is alright but I'm hoping it goes back under emerald.. anyone know whats going on with that?

there are no snow making setups under emerald for the park and there isnt enough snow to build one so they had to compromise.
 
Park ranger told me yesterday they're still planning to build the park under Emerald, there's just not enough snow to do it yet.

The conditions are terrible to answer this thread. Like fucking terrible.
 
I know it's mean but the thought of people coming here for one season this year, or coming for a week holiday around Xmas and getting completely skunked is hilarious to me. We have been totally spoiled the last 5+ years with ridiculously good early seasons.

We've been overdue for a bad season and it should help kill the over the top hype of Whistler and maybe reduce the insane line-ups we deal with it.
