how is going to a ski camp in whistler this summer???

real bad...i heard they have banned anything inverted or any spins over 540. also there will be no tables bigger than 15 feet and the pipe is for snowboarders only. the only rails will be little mailboxes but are only accessible by snowboarders. i suggest that everyone stay well away from whistler this summer.

don't really care about the pipe and rails being for snowboarders only either - i mean, skiers have no business in the halfpipe and on rails.

Yah dude, As of middle of the year, the only place you are allowed to invert is the water ramps and they only allow straight over fronts. I guess you guys should refund your cash and not come out.

 
Since when can't u going inverted at whistler?? We did it all year, as well as everyone else. I have never seen a sign anywhere saying no inverts.

Unless they just put the rule in to effect like last week. (given they aren't putting any tables in the public park which sucks)

 
dude, that was during the winter. welcome to a new reality. words on the streets has it the intrawest (owners of whistler-blackcomb) just got bitch slapped by a couple of lawsuits.

at the start of last year, two people got paralyzed in the park. apparently the case has gone through the courts and they've hit the paydirt.

due to the quicksilver chairlift fiasco in which two people died due to faulty lifts, intrawest has a heinously high insurance policy. now combined the the recent lawsuits, shit has really hit the fan, heads are rolling and the place just fucking stinks.

speed control, ski patrol and park rangers now have the authority to revoke your pass for performing unauthorized acrobatics. there have even been whispers of fences been put up in front of popular cliffs in order to prevent possible hucks and injuries.

intrawest's formerly friendly backcountry policy is also now over. the backcountry is now considered permanently closed and you can get your pass revoked. intrawest in also now lobbying with town council to be able to criminally charge repeat offenders.

intrawest is fucking whistler up! they're the fucking gestapo of the mountain now. i just got tongue whipped by patrol for flipping in the pipe and am luck to still have my pass.

the rebellion is inevitable.

i have to agree with hucksplat the whole sueing thing has gotten out of control, it has become a test to see how much money you can rip of someone else over something stupid, it can be completly your fault and you still have a chance of making big bucks. Ive heard lots of stories about people getting hurt doing stuff that is obviosly very dangerouse and has a big risk factor and sueing when they hurt them self. It is so stupid and the Americans took it a step to far and now Canada is following your stupid red neck habits

Intrawest are not having a highest level park this year as for insurance reasons they are not allowed to have any tables that the general punters can hit. The are not having a black park this summer as they say its to hard to patrol the area as lots of people without helmets and park passes would beable to get in. I have to say that today the Tables for the camps looked ok but are really small. They say they are going to do lots of work in the next few days!

 
I just got m y season pass clipped yesterday for doing a switch back over a table top. It's fucken true they are the gastopo, They won't let me ski for 2 weeks,. thats bullshit. I paided for my pass that shit isn't right,...

you can do whatever you want - until you fuck up and get your ass sued for millions of dollars... or accidently cut the wrong guy off on the road and get shot... or perhaps go on a vacation to some forign country in eastern europe, africa, the middle-east, or one of the many other areas in the world that hate the states and have terrorists or just your every day civilian kill you just because of your nationality.

I love how people are bashing canada and the states, because really, you can't really tell the difference between them, they are basically the same, they both have white trash hicks, and they both have people that love to sue. So really why are people arguing about this. Its really stupid!!

Personally i could care less which counter i am in, it really doesn't matter, infact i have a house in canada and one it the states, so stop bashing each other because of their nationality.

Hmmmmmmm... I'm a park nazi on the glacier and I haven't heard anything about this. Oh, but they did tell us in training that snowbladers and aviator sunglasses are banned and anyone who wears them will be tackled by a snowcat!

what? no aviators? but that's all I wear on sunny days... I wore nothing but a aviators (a different pair everyday) last year on the glacier.

yeah I was kinda joking cause one would think it'd be the other way around . . . kinda ironic if you ask me. I love canada but it sucks whistler is taking a big step back in the terrain park department, cause it's not like that here, hopefully it won't be like that ever again. And there are a lot more canadians on this site claiming to be white trash redneck hicks than americans. we both got our share, I wish we could just ship them to russia or something.

you don't see ski companies getting sued - they advertise that their twins are made to slide rails - but when you bring them in for warrenty with damage due to a railslide they're laugh at you.

Anyway, what the hell is going on with all this whistler shit. Especially the backcounrty thing, about it being permanently closed or whatever.

Why do they put all that shit on the back of you ticket, or on a season pass release form if it doesn't mean anything anyway.

In order to get a pass, you out your signature on something that basically says, 'If I get hurt it is my fault and not the resorts'. But if people do get hurt it seems to be the resorts fault anyway.

Damn bitches sueing.
