Whistler

I know there are a million threads on this but I am planning on moving to Whistler next season with my buddy and I know getting a job won't be that hard but what are the chances of finding a place to live and i am not talking about staff housing because chances of getting in their are slim. And how would i go about finding a place to live? websites? real-estate offices?, i dunno. Thanks

its not really hard to get into staff housing, just gotta get the right job, otherwise expect to pay almost all of your money on your accomodation

im prettysure staff housing is really crowded, probably not very fun to live there, try and find friends to live with or somthin

i am totally inexperienced with this kind of thing, but when i finish school i plan on buying a van and hopping around heated parkades...

I lived in staff housing over summer and now live in Creekside
WB have 3 housings.... Glacier, Brio and Westside...
Glacier and Brio are both shit holes... Westside isn't that bad...
Your best bet is just either find someones couch to crash on or stay in a hostel... check pique magazine you'll have a place to live in a week or two easy.
specially next year won't be anywhere near as hard as this year to find housing.... and also depends when you are coming.... Sept-Nov and apr-June there is loads of housing going.

k so i think i've found a buddy to go with and were planning on going next season. So what would be the best time to head out there? I live in Burlington, Ontario so how would i go about applying for a job and finding a place. I am going out there for a week this summer so should i just do it all then? Thanks

yeah but isnt it a little early for next season (september 2010) and should i hand out resumes and stuff when im there in the summer?

you can
www.whistlerchamber.com is a real good one for jobs. inc. Prior ski+snowboard factory openings get posted on that site.
but chances of getting a job without being here are very very slim.

No everyone is super friendly... well not everyone but most of them are.
I came here on my own with 500 bucks in my pocket...
I now live with 2 people im super close with and have plenty people to ski with.
