Look at my original post, I never said all I've ever ridden is bike parks lmao, I just said I'm a pretty experienced rider. I'm not a pure slopestlye rider if that's what you believe for some reason?

I would recommend not renting a bike to begin with because it always seems like rental bikes get trashed
 
The actual jump is just to the left in the trees. You have to set it on that last log. Its removable so it doesnt get ruined. No need to rebuild the original.

I did assume that was your picture lol, it does however look like the lip is totally repairable. Im gonna stick with my original post in this thread and say that its not really worth it unless you jump a moving train.

Anyways, are you even spending time in whistler this summer? I sure wish I was.

I kinda see your point mate. I’m in Panorama BC at the moment, about 9 hours from Pemberton. Thinking at the end of the season heading to Whistler for a week or so to see what all the fuss is about! Will scope out the train gap whilst I’m there.

Panorama is a really cool place, Ive spent a bit of time in golden. Im from kelowna, about halfway to whis from where you are. If you get the chance i wouldnt hesitate on a trip to whis.

Yeah the bike trails here as gnarly as fuck, lots of tech sections, love it here. Plus it's super quiet, rarely find myself queuing for the lift.

Yeah I know Kelowna, I did a winter season at Big White 2 years ago man, just doing a ski instructor course and I'm probably coming back this season to instruct if Panorama don't offer me anything.

Lip is totally repairable and like others have said the removable jump is still there hiding in the trees. Hit me up with another update next year haha.

Whimped out. I Had a one morning window just now, but it was slippy as fuck as it rained overnight.

I was by myself and it just didn't feel right. Really devastated but listened to gut feeling for once.

Feel like I've let myself down but I'll be back.

No update boys and probs won't be for a while. I'm working in Panorama BC which is a good 10hr drive away and don't plan on driving out West anytime soon.

I'll be sure to update when the day finally comes.

My jump skills have really improved recently, they're 100x better than they were at the time I scoped out the train gap. So I guess everything happens for a reason.

Nope. Didn't get a chance to go out west last year. I heard from a friend in Whistler it got taken down, again, after somebody completely wrecked themselves on it last summer.

I filmed one of my buddies hitting it about 3 years ago, honestly one of the most impressive things i have ever seen.

Yeah really strange video. He never looked committed from the start. It's not an easy run in, and you gotta pedal quite a bit, this dude barely put a stroke in. As soon as he'd set off he'd essentially bought a ticket for the Titanic.

Bike park rats like this kid have no clue how to judge speed since they're used to riding things perfectly built. This point along with the thread creator thinking its a good idea to hit this in the wet alone are enough reasons why he should never attempt anything like this. Maybe he should have timed it with the train, it would have cushioned his fall.
