Whistler this weekend 12-14

So I am headed up north this weekend from Portland Oregon. My question is, my buddy that is riding up with me has a DUI on his record. Has anyone heard anything about the Border not letting people in this year? I have heard some crazy stories but I will be driving. I think I am going to cross in Blaine. Any info would be awesome. It would suck to make him swim. We already bought tickets and a hotel package.

go through the lynden crossing...straight up 539 from bellingham. you'll get hassled way less there. once you get across the border, just get on highway 1 (NOT 1A), and that'll take you straight to whistler.
 
Agreed with the Lynden crossing.

There was a thread on this on TGR a little while back. I suggest you try and search for it. If I recall correctly I believe the consensus was to declare a DUI if asked, as the consequences of saying no and getting your record checked is much bad.
 
I think the policy is, tell them if you're checked, and as long as you don't have 3 offenses then you're fine.
 
veteran - you rolling to the peak to peak introduction on Friday? I heard Red Bull has an athlete that is going to do something crazy involving the tram.
 
McConkey and someone else were supposedly doing some test base jumps in the past week or so.
So yeah, somethings gonna happen.
 
Red Bull airforce will be doing their thang jumping out of the gondola. Should be pretty sweet. I won't be there unfortunately, watching the webcast from my office instead. Apparently there is a Red Bull party at the Longhorn (or GLC or something) that evening as well. Might make it up in time for that.
 
I rode the peak to peak with Shane today and he said that they filmed the base jump off of the gondola last week because they knew about the weather. He is a super cool guy.
