My friends and i were thinking of going to whistler for a month next summer and just skiing the public park all summer. So does anyone have any information on the public park? What all is in it and how good is it? Thanks alot for any information

well during 3rd session there was a rail that was closed and those hits higher up hill were nice. i dont know what it is like all summer long though

 
They have a rail, 2 spines, a superpipe that kicks ass, and two really good tables right beside eachother. You also can go hip up the windlip which rules. Only drawback from public skiing is that it is only for like 3 hours (12-3-4ish) or so. If you can figure it out you can go up with the camps in the morning and ski one of the camps lanes.

you can ski the lane if you figure out a scam or know people.

DEFINITELY do it man, we did it last year and it was sick. The public park is dope with what Darryl said. Most people said the biggest public hit was one of if not the best on the glacier. Superpipe was sick as well...Darryls scams are pretty much just knowing Shane. IF you konw him, he's a wicked cool guy and will hook you up.

 
people pay like 2gs to come to camp don't rip them off ya cheapos ask if you can hit one or two jumps and they might let you pouchin lanes is also a good way ta get your ass kicked some snowboarder did that at hood and got a ski in the face

ya, that's the best way to ski the camp lanes (what Will said). There are some more stuff you can do...like if it's a foggy day than you can just kind of ski over to camp lane and try to blend in...noone will see you or notice you because well, you can barly see (and sometimes - you can't see) the jump you're about to hit when it's foggy so it would take them a while to find you and kick you out. Another way is to become friends with a filmer and just go on the lane with them to do photoshoots. If you're imaginative you could probably think of other ways to not get in shit on the lane.

When I was skiing the HN lane a lot of the coaches talked to me without saying a word to me about if I was a camper or not, so I don't know

The hits on the public park were better than the ones at HN at probably SMS and the other camps. They just sent you on the perfect trajectory, not a crazy kick either.

 
sweet thanks for the help, so there are basically two tables, a pipe, some rails and then the windlip? Whats everyone else think about getting a condo for like a month, that seems just about as cheap as a week long camp.

Most of the camps have 2 days a week where they won't be up there- the day between sessions and the middle day that they have off. You could poach their lanes then. The diggers are probably still up there but are easy to make friends with.

Brooke (powderprincess) and two of her friends and I are gonna live up there for like 2 months. I'm gonna go to camp coaching only for at least 2 sessions- one moguls, one freeride... then work and ski the public park in the afternoon. This summer's gonna be LIVE

A bunch of us on the east coast are getting a condo up there for like 8 weeks this summer.

i dunno who said it but poaching SMS is not the brightest idea. all the terrain is in a tight area and there are only around 40 skiers there. and the coaches know the kids usually. plus don't be cheap just pay.

Man I went to COC this summer just to ski. and I relized just get to now people and they'll let you ski where they work. Or just get a huge group and poach we did that this summer like 20 of us at HN and SMS they got all pissed and shit it was cool but our camp was poached all the time to so it was fair.
