Hey, so I need to do a case study for my course so I need someone with a past injury which is still giving them pain... EXCEPT the shoulder.

I was going to use my boyfriend but I'm not allowed doing the shoulder because BOTH of my flatmates stole it from me even though they knew I was doing it... teacher isn't stoked so I need a new subject asap!

I need to do a treatment plan by next tuesday so this needs to happen asap.

You'll receive 5 free massages over the next 5 weeks. You'll need to come to my place in creekside.

please help.

Chronic pain is cool too.. doesn't have to be a specific injury... just a painful area.

damn i wish this was in vancouver because you would get your choice. Cuz i have my ankle (broken ankle, torn ATFL) both my knees (strained acls and partially torn right MCL) fucked back (strained a bunch of muscles in it over the years) both my wrists (cumulatively broken them 5 times). I'm a bit of a mess

If your down in van I have a volar plate and a bunch of hardware in my distal radius that your free to play with. Double points if you know how to do scar maturation

Damn, I'm in Van for school this fall... but I broke my back in 2 places this spring. Compression fracture Tll, L1, along with a plethora of knee surgeries. I am a walking case study. :( Bummer..

well... dont know if it counts but i got sugery on my thumb over the summer and it hasnt stopped hurting... like 4 1/2 months now.

im also living in creekside

Damn... This would be awesome if I lived in Whistler, I'm in Vancouver or Langley though :(

I have a herniated disc in my lower back which is just a bitch as it affects my left leg with pain and numbness.. Also both my ankles are pretty messed up.

But, it sounds like people here have worse injuries than I do.

i have a twisted spin in my neck and lower back. its reallllllll painful everyday. id love some more massages!

Which disc did you herniate, how long ago and how does it affect your skiing?

I herniated L5/S1 last January which more or less ended my season. Pain levels/mobility have improved a lot since then, but I still have some symptoms (like you, sciatica pain in my left leg, no numbness though).

thumb might be a bit tricky for a case study... i'll do some research on it today and see what i can figure out! what did you do? do you have xrays?
they wont be nice massages if i'm just working with your arms.. just so you know.
i'm ONLY treating the area of need.. and if i suspect other tissues need work because of it (which is highly unlikely for that location) then i'd go there.
maybe you can have 1 freebee for being my case study!

liam do you have xrays? or could you get me xrays? i can't treat it unless i can see whats actually going on. if you could that'd be so awesome. sounds like it would be a fun case study!

umm same discs. I did it in February and was able to water ramp by June, was skiing in November. but symptoms were around for like 1.5 years. And still get uncomfortable sitting for long periods. Stretch lots, do lots of core strengths, see physio and you'll be good for this season hopefully

fucked up my thumb punching the knuckle of the jump after hut.. tore my __________ ligament fully and they had to sew it back to the bone... its skiers thumb basically

ulnar collateral ligament??

i think i might be able to help it. i've done some research. i'll ask my teacher on tuesday!

i sliced my heel up bad enough that it was flipped onto my toes. it was just a fatty flesh would i dont know if that qualifies but...

Exact same disc for me as well. I've had the injury for about two years. The first year was bad to the point where I was getting numbness when I got up off of chairs that I wouldn't be able to walk for a few seconds before I got feeling back.

In this second year it's gotten quite a bit better and now I have the ability to do most things that I won't without too much fear of pain and whatnot.

Just don't be an idiot like me and actually go to physio or whatever works best for you and get it taken care of properly. I'm sure my back could have healed a lot quicker had I done that. You don't want to suffer on this for 2 years like I have.

you can't massage a meniscus. sorry :(

it has to be something you can actually physically treat. the only thing i'd be able to do for your knee would be to work the muscles around it which wont help the cartilage at all

I have a pinched sciatica that give me trouble every fucking day. I hate it.

If you want someone with an injuy just go walk the stroll and look for a guy who is limping and ask them. I don't get back to town till the middle of November. I will only let you touch me if you are super hot and provide a happy ending.

Let me know.

you mean, you've pinched your sciatic nerve!
sciatia is when you have numbness all the way to your feet. everyone thinks they have sciatica but its only truly that when its consistent numbness all the way to your feet.
where is it pinched? lower spine? piriformis?
if it feels like its around your glutes then its probably trapped under your piriformis muscle! I'd do some stretches if thats the case to try and loosen it up!

Yeah, i am quite baked when i get on here and my spelling tells of my concussions.

It was pinched right under my left lower lumbar. Apparently it is from uneven muscle distribution and a shifted scacrum(sp?), it goes back to many falls on my left buttock and summers of College working for a stone mason. I do yoga 2+ times per day and use heat and cold to stem the pain, along with a healthy dose of THC it makes skiing not hurt.

But a good rub down from a guy named HaNns with strong fingers feels sooo good after a day of ripping.

That's what i do. It blows eh, cold mornings are the worst, and being stuck with your legs all cramped for hours in a Cat or heli is the worst.... I get all seized up

hahaha well i never had the liberty of being in cat or heli. But class was certainly difficult for me. I had to write my exams standing up on a podium.

Long drives (like longer than 5 hours.) still bother me and its been like 3 years. Chances are it will always will until my discs degenerate, so just got wait 50 years!

Have you tried water running? I found that really helpful, as it elongated my spine, worked on the range of motion in my legs, made me support my body with my core and was low impact.
