Whistler opening early?

So i just heard from someone that they heard whistler is opening next weekend?

Anyone have a legit answer for me?
 
It's all speculation really. I doubt that anyone on the forum knows 100%.

The most concrete thing I've heard is that WB employees have been told that they should prepare for work this coming weekend.

I'm sure if anything happens it will be after Monday because that is when they are supposed to receive a pretty sizeable dump of snow.

Just check the website frequently.
 
my mom works as a groomer and she says they will know for sure on tuesday if the mountain will open sat or not.

so with that i will let you know when she knows!

Rumors are saying new lifies are getting trained this week and to expect a saturday nov. 14th opening. Snow and temp forecasts seem to support that!
 
If it actually ends up opening on saturday i swear to god ill be there like two hours early just so i can hit the runs first.
 
OK its official, my dad was just talking to a ski patroller today who said that its opening on saturday.

Heard from my buddies whos a groomer that WHISTLER WILL OPEN SATURDAY.

This news ruined a perfectly good pair of underpants.

Anyone have room for an extra person on saturday morning or friday night? and a ride home sunday after skiing?

Ive got a place to stay, but could save the 50$ on greyhound :S.
 
Hiked around diamond head today. Holy shit. So much snow, definitely over a meter, and at the higher elevation it was super light. It still covered all the little trees and rocks and that stuff, so as long as whis is in the same boat everyone has the right to be stoked.
 
Anyone know if they plan to keep Whistler open from here on in to the season? Unfortunately I can't make it up this weekend since I have so much stuff I should be doing (BELIEVE me when I say it would take a lot to get me away from the mountain).

Some people I know seem to think it's a sneak peek thing that they are doing, and after this weekend it will stay closed until their original opening date of the 26th. I'd like to know soon since I have to make some arrangements to get up there for next weekend (the 20th).

wont let me link unfortunately dont know why. It did say up til November 26th yesterday, but I think there may be some milder weather coming in or the opposite after the 19th (maybe they will open more lifts).

Anyway my understanding is Whis will be open til 19th and then weather dependant may stay open or not between 20th and 26th..
 
i heard the first ten people up get some sort of free lift ticket haha, just getin ready to leave now
 
I just came in from skiing all day. All I can say is wow. It was my first time ever riding the mountain and it lived up to my expectations. If that was opening day then I am so stoked from the rest of the season.
