Whistler opening day?

i just checked out the cams and it looks like they have hardly enough snow to ski on and a shitload of rain ahead in the alpine forecast, im hoping for a miracle to see some new snow before opening day 11 days from now...

Unless there's a miracle, it probably won't be able to open on schedule. Although in the inaccurate 14 day forecast, it looks like it might get good right before that weekend...
This is definitely a bad start to the season...

yea even if its a shitty start i hope they still open according to schedule, i cant hold off skiing for another week.

Even if they don't open on schedule, there's some good backcountry that could be seshed before the mountain opens though, as long as it snows a bit more!

Is anybody going to be able to open on time. 49 degrees north is supposed to open the 27th and they have no snow at all, not even a teeny tiny bit.

I called a late november opening a month and a half ago and everyone called me a huge pessimist... now it's looking more like Dec. 5. Means I don't get to ski until after exams. Fuck that noise.

Wow i never thought that Horseshoe resort in ontario would open before Whistler. Kinda sad if you ask me.

Mammoth opened 10 days early (Nov 3)

On a side note, I almost moved up to whistler last summer. Kinda glad I stayed here for the time being.

actully no. it will FORSURE open on the 27th. there doing tones of snowmaking. I work for the mountain so all though it may only have a few runs open.. it will be running on the 27th. However if you check out the 14 day forecast its finally getting cold, staying cold and dumping snow next week!! so we should be good after all !!!

this weather is making me very depressed, its 10 degrees outside here in whistler. i dont care how much water they waste, they should be making snow at every instant that it is below 0 degrees. i am praying that it will remain constantly cold after monday, because if they dont open on schedule, i will actually not know what to do with my life.

please Ullr please!

Yeah no shit, its like that every year where I live in central Montana. Last year I was wearing a t shirt around in December and we got 6" of snow in June in the middle of the prairie. When I went skiing in June we couldnt even make it to the parking lot because it was still buried under 6' of snow.

GLOBAL WARMING

but come on guys. at the end of this week its supposed to get real cold and statrt dumping. everybody knows that us west coasters can see 5 feet of snow in 3 days, especially in late november and early december. last year was a late start too, but we had a record breaker, stay faithful

it's pretty depressing getting up everyday to warm temps and rain. There are quite a few rumours going round that it will open early - that is chatting shit!

I'm not sure I understand this thread...there's a whistler update from ten days ago saying they got 40cm of new snow...

And this is all that's left in the high alpine... With nothing good in the forecast either.

oh...I'm sorry to hear that...My hill doesn't even have ANY snow yet...they're gonna be blowing all week and open this weekend though!! :D

but you know what? fuck it. opening day, even if we have to download, their wil be a rail park up. there will be some trees to tap. some rocks to jib.

im over worrying. its all skiing and i plan on having fun
