So i want to do a season at whistler next year, and i was wondering if anybody had any ideas about the best jobs which pay aight but let me ski the most.. I have very minimal experience and will only be 18 which is a bit of a problem, but any ideas you guys have would be appreciated. I thought the park crew would be sick but u need experience so... thanks

Id say if your gonna be in whistler work at a restraunt or work as a liftie, lifties also get free passes so thats always a +

lifty has to be my least favorite job on the mountain...

1) You have to suffer, watching all those people shred

2) You freeze your balls off (not so much at whistler, but at Seymour I definetly did some of this)

3) CANNOT CALL IN SICK ON A POW DAY.....

Work as a busser or something, like I've said in other threads, best job on the mountain would have to be Ski patrol, but you lack the qualifications for that.

Work in the caf, get the free pass. Shred.

be a barback or porter in a nightclub oh wait sorry your only 18 be abus boy at earls or something hot chicks only nights decent money

your best bet to getting a decent paying job that lets you get up the hill as often as possible would be an evening dishwasher or nightcleaner at one of the larger hotels, like the Fairmont ($12 starting wage) the Four Seasons or the Westin, the Fairmont offers accomadation which is on hill and ski in ski out and the Four seasons also has accomadation in the hotel itself. Most of these shifts start after 3:30 so you are good to go all day. I do have to say if you don't care about your social life and just wanta ski lots, nightcleaning is the bomb or any graveyard shift for that matter, you watch it puke all night then hit fresh tracks all morning til noon or so, then crash by 2pm then up for work at 11pm-7am, you get your hours, you get paid more then most day workers and freshies all day....if your only 18 then you can't get into the bars anyway......

thanks for the ideas + k for everyone. yeah i gotta say that night jobs seem the best option. guy who said about the fairmont, is it quite hard to get a job there??

I work at the fairmont, I am a rental tech and live in wb staff housing. It was easy for me to get the job. apply next summer and don't stress yourself out now about it.

these guys have some really good ideas.

also, if you wanna work in the park you can just volunteer and then if you decide to stay another season you will have a shoe into that job. and you get a volly pass.
