Whistler/Blackcomb in the summer

Hey, me and some friends are thinking about taking a road trip up to whistler sometime in the next few months. Planning on riding the park as part of the 'general public' (not enough dough for a camp, bleh). Anyway, I was wondering if any of ya'll who know the place could tell me when the best time to come up is. Like, should we try and rush it and get there before June 8th so we can hit the whistler park while it's still open, or should we wait until later and just ride Blackstone? Or does it suck in the summer and we should save our dough for some real snow? Any help would be appreciated...

 
yea man - blackstone.

...um... right... whistler's fun shit in the summer... just go there and party, fuck skiing. the public park on the glacier kinda sucks... you can always just try and poach the camp lanes though.

its blackcomb, and the summer park last year had the following: largish downkink rail, a pretty high flatbar, a kink box (actually two boxes in a row with the second one slanted). there was a pipe, but i never went to it, but I hear that its pretty good. In terms of jumps, there was one jump/hip that was pretty large, but you had to hike pretty high because of a longish inrun.

that was around the beginning of july.

If you're able to get out here before June 8 the Whistler park is probably better than the summer park on Blackcomb (or stone whatever works for you). A lot more hits and somewhat more varied jibs.

Summer blackcomb park is wicked crowded sometimes....it doesnt have the hits that you might want..Last years only jump was HUGE and you had to straightline the inrun to hit it. Other than that I hope you like rails...cuz thats all they got.. Personally Ide go to HOOD as I hear their public park has a decent variety.

I would be interested in seeing what those places in montana are like. Also, if you want to ski ALL summer, look into going to europe. granted the flight is expensive, generally the lodging and stuff is dirt cheap.

Don't bother coming up for the whistler park... just hit the Glacier's Public park on Blackcomb... try to hit it around June 20th... cuz you wan't to make sure they got all of their shit up... but you also want to have the most snow. Be sure to ride the runns on 7th heaven... it is so sick skiing the sun-pocked snow and high speed... it is like in the snow in happy days when they went to the pemberton icecap... kinda bumpy but soft... so much fun to ski.
