I was just wondering which SPK model is best for an all-mountain boot cause I just tried on a pair at sport chek and they are the compfiest things in the world and im looking to get a pair of SPK's within the next few weeks.

Dont know if this helps but im an aggressive downhill skiier 28.5 boot. Venture into the park for mostly jumps.

+k for help!

You probably want the pro or at least the kaos... The kreation is more of a begginer boot and the flex is way too soft for any aggressive all mountain skiing.

Pro for sure! It's 110 flex and it's seriously my dream boot on every part of the mountain. I can charge the fuck out of the bowls and rip the fuck out of the park in them. Doesn't matter where you are. I'll never ride another boot.

It depends if you want a softer or stiffer boot. I would go SPK Pro if I had to get one of the three, but I would also probably never get the SPK for all-mountain. It does not have nearly enough forward lean.

Meh. With the technology that goes into boots and skis these days I don't think forward lean is that necessary. I never ever have a problem with them.

I kinda like a bit of a stiffer boot. 10 being top flex, 1 being barely any flex. I'd say I like a 7-8 flex. I was looking at the Kaos the other day but cant you tighten or loosen the flex on them or no?

Here's the thing... I'm a 5'4" girl, maybe 130lbs soaking wet and have no problems with the SPK pro being too stiff. They are PERFECT. They're 110 but there is so much padding in those suckers that you have extra give. It's not like a 110 race boot with zero padding and it feels like your leg's in a cast. You're going to be disappointed with the Kaos or Kreation if you don't spend much time in the park. Get the Pro, you won't regret it.

I have the 09 kreations and I love them, but like said above, they are pretty soft.If you are heavier and sending massive drops go with a kaos or pro model, the kreation will be super soft.

Retail is "$735" but you will NEVER see them for that much.

Between $550 - $400! Depends where you buy.

I wont recommended spk for all mountain, i have some and hate them when om skiing hard. But thy are the good in park and fits great, little wide for me ( liner are packed out)

flex is a preference. since they all have the same fit, the only real differences are looks and flex. If you like a stiffer boot go with the ghost or if you want a lighter flex try the pro or the kaos

Say if I were to go with the Kaos.. Would I really feel that much of a difference on the 100 flex. At my local mountain (say I were to do the biggest drop there = 20 ft) I wouldnt really feel it that much would I..?

He doesn't have $900. The SPK Pro is going to be the closest to the Ghost though.

I'd go with the SPK Pro, still. Haha. Kaos might be okay. I definitely wouldn't go with the Kreation though. Too soft IMO.

On my mountain... Pow comes every two years (Unless you consider 12 cm of fresh snow every couple days, and hardening at night "Pow" than I wont be charging pow.) I was just saying 20ft drop as an example. Kaos I think is the boot im goin for!

Come to think of it my Sport Chek near by stopped selling winter gear today... Where in Canada or the US can I buy the Kaos say next month on the 20th?

If you really want an all-mountain boot. Go look at the Shogun. It's between the stiff burly Ghost, and the soft SPK.

i got my ghost's for 100$ /claim

haha but for real if you are 14 don't waste your money on a boot you outgrow immediately, get something that is stiff enough for everything and will let you grow.

Im sorry but SPK Pros are not a 110 flex, they are still one of the softest boots out there.

If you have to have Salomon get the Ghost or Shogun, unless you have boats for feet then try something else like a Technica or something.

Awsome thanks for the help guys, much appreciated. I think im gunna go with the Kaos.

^^^ Someone up there said if your still growing... Yeah, Im 5'11 190 Size 11.5 Feet so I think growing is at its end.

they felt that way because of the far more straight up stance they have. it's almost a 90 degree angle. lol

Yeah, I know, it's kinda rediculous.

And to those people recommending Ghosts... that's not one of the SPKs. The three SPKs are the Pro, Kaos, and Kreation. The Ghost is a 120-130 flex boot I believe, with a last of around 98. I'm not 100% sure on the flex or last of the Ghost but I know it is totally different from the SPKs. Also, SPK Pros are said to be a 110 flex, but I think they're more like 100 and then the Kaos a 90 and Kreation an 80. And those numbers might be a bit high.
