I live in P.A. I'm 5'9. I ski mostly all park. I like to butter, but I don't want any thing real soft so I don't wash out on landings. I love the pipe. I do rails, but I'm not one of those people whoes all about them, but I still don't want my skis to break because of too much rail sliding. I had the 04/05 scratch fs last year, but they were too soft.

fujatives or invaders, both are made especially for crazy butters and they're made for the park

id go with the fujis bro

go wit the critons cause if ur not a rail person then u dont have to worry about the edges as much.

fujatives or pes wow everything ive suggested has been something from K2

"if all your friends jumped off a clif would you?" -my mom "i would if there was snow on it" -me

Personally I don't think I'd go with the fuji's or p.e.'s because the fuji's are too soft and I've had the p.e.'s before and they are way too heavy.

^no way. not too soft at all. I ski mine everywhere and there great. u dont even notice the soft butter zone until u need to do a butter.(or are strightlineing something insanely fast)

I'm feeling Fujative, such a sick ski. Not too expensive, the Invader, from the sounds of it, may be too soft. I haven't ridden it yet. Maybe this years Scratch FS or maybe even the best choice would be 4frnt STL.

I'd say try to demo as much as you can, early in the season, I've ridden a bunch of skis, including the STL, FS, and Fuji.

I'd go with a pair of Elans with Marker bindings.

NS has become the official gathering of the world's dumbest people.

Scratch174, thank you.

Hey man, Nomensteven just PM'ed me and I didn't read the thread in full. You wanted something stiffer than the FS. I was looking at you like to butter but don't want to wash out.

174cm 06 PE, is so sick, Held them yesterday, yet to ride them, but its similar to the older ones and they're designed to take a beating.

First of all, your in PA so that tells me a few things. 1) you wont be hitting any deep pow 2) alot of east cost ice! and 3) not any super steep runs. So looking at all of that I'd say you dont need anything with more than a 80mm waste, anything more and your just gonna have a harder time going edge to edge in the type of snow you get in PA. You also said you like a stiff ski so look at skis like Volk (sp?) Atomic or Head. All three brands will have good twins for your needs. As for my opinion, I live in MI and we get some crazy ice and I also love a really really stiff ski. I personally ski Atomic Tweaks and love them. I have skied other skis such as the Salomon 1080's, Line 1260s and Crons. Good luck.

If you like a fairly stiff ski - maybe the Head madtrix or Mojos could be an option.

Ok I narrowed it down to 2 choices the Line Chronics and the Volkl Dogens.

What do you guys think of the dogens?

If you disagree with my choices just post a recomendation.

i havent rode the dogens but i wouldnt really trust it..i have never really liked volkl or seen any really good products come from the company (as far as i know) so from what knowledge i DO know, get the chronics ...they are the most amazing ski i have ever rode..and when u go switch, it feels like ur going forwards while getting hugged by a huge white cloud with naked chicks on it...thats how good it feels to ride the chronics, and dont even ask me what it feels like to slide rails with them becasue that is to explicit for this site...catch my drift?

have u skied it? obviously not. They are not by any means a soft ski(but i am pretty light so it might b different for heavier riders). The butter zones are super soft for sure. but the good thing about the ski is it will only flex when u want it to. And its great in pipe. Other than that i would go for a volkl Dogen,PE,or AR5.

well in this situation i wouldnt get dogens...so get chronics

its not called Ipod its called ISki.

ar5s= noodles.

if you actually want a stiff ski, go with head.

They make dope skis for park.

Also, if you arnt a rail person......i would suggest trouble maker or one of the phil pros, they are pretty stiff, and the best pipe ski on the market.

yeah, i went there

if your a lighter person like 110-120lb, go with like 171 salomon 720s. They have great flex and are good for smaller people to do flex.

the fs is already pretty stiff compared to alot of the skis i use but i would get a Volkl Dogen,PE,or Pollard.

what are you talking about, PEs aren't heavy. and if they feel heavy to you than it's probably because you skiied on some that were mounted too far back. if you mount them at dead center, there is no such thing as a heavy ski.

because I like poop.

but i'd still buy a soft ski if it was me ;). And ^what do u mean going from a PE to scratch fs. the weight is pretty similar. PE's get very heavy depending on bindings
