Basically I have reno rockers, and i need another ski to give me a rounded quiver of two.. So a bit about me:- 5'9 - 140 Pounds- 20 Years old- Skiing for 15 years, level 3/3+
- Typically I ski about 35% Park, 55% BC and 10% Piste.. - Home mountain is Saas Fee in switzerland.. 2000m vertical, fair amount of moguls (unfortunately) sick park, sick bc...Previous skis: - Solly 1080s - Nice but overpowered them eventually, - Volkl Wall 169 (Liked them But too short and broke)- Line Elizabeth - Loved them except in moguls - Line Anthems - Ok but thats it.. Poor at speed etc..- Salomon Foils - Really liked them short term but they deteriorated quickly..Help me out throw me some suggestions.. My initial feelings were Line Blend or Sir Francis Bacons

would be an idea but can't get moments to the UK again so moment is out this time. don't really want to go rockered on both my skis.

hmmm.

no rocker?

s6. unrockered pow. but could handle groomers and whatnot.

ummm

idk what are you looking to fill in. a dedicated pow ski? all mountain? carving a shitload?

i'm looking for maybe 40% Pow lines/pillows 30% BC booters 15% Park (not park days but the odd lap) and 15% groomers.. I want a ski that is fun on groomers but i don't need race performance.. as i mentioned my initial thoughts were bacons/blends..

bacons would be fun. but obviously absurdly soft.

blends would be fun, if a little narrow.

i still think s6s/scratch steeze would be a good option.

Ok well i will look in to S6/Steezes.. but i guess they might be a bit expensive.. prophet 100s are going to be stiffer and more directional than i want... i will be mounting at approx -2... looking for something around 180.. and not too expensive.. Bacons are stiffer this year apparently? anyone know about that?

definitely no rocker.. i basically want a powder ski.. that can handle the whole mountain .. and is mounted close to or at true centre for spinning off booters and cliffs.. i am also just used to centre mount now so..Lizzies (again)BaconsBlendsS5s and S6s.. are all on my possibles list

Since you live in CH you must be somewhat of a baller. Get DPS Lotus 138s. If you are only gonna have a 2 ski quiver one of them might as well be a real big boy powder ski.

With Bacons has anyone skied them forward of recommended? My list of possibles now reads:BaconBlendS5S6 ZeroPimpCzar (very outside candidate)

Bacons without a doubt.

I use them as my all mtn. pow stick last year (this year I got Donners though) and mounted them at like -1 or -2 from true center. I would say that is more of an all mtn. mount as sometimes I have slight tip dive if there is over a foot or 2 of pow. They rip groomers all day long no doubt because of the sidecut. they are pretty soft so they aren't the best at high speeds but they are definitely fine on groomers, they seem like a much smaller ski than they actually are.

In pow they are just sick, I love them, nuff said

I even ride them in park, they are a blast for sure. Learned butter 3's on them.

They are not a charging ski though, they are soft, so if you like a soft ski they will be perfect. Pretty durable too. I'm 5'9 145. and they wer fine for me. I mounted them up with Jesters and it made them all the more sicker.

so far its looking like bacons at -1.5 but i am also kinda interested in the Czar... i know its rockered but it seems minimal..

Ok the prices for me:Czar - £370Bacon - £360Pimp - £290Which do i go for?

motherships are too much ski.. i want something more 'jibby' than that.. not an all out charger.. i will look in to VCTs again..

thugs have a really long sidecut and i dont imagine liking that on groomers.. i think its gonna be czars/bacons or pimps.. Czars being unlikely but i want to know more about them

ok so i decided pimps are too narrow, well not enough wider than my reno rockers.. so its Bacon vs Czar.. I know they are very different but they are a different compromise.. so Bacons vs Czars.. anyone?
