***Which Ski Is Better For Me***

Hey guys! I am 6’3, 220 lb. I ride out in Eastern Canada, I ride mainly park and a decent amount of all mountain. Right now I have two great prices on two different pairs of skis but am having a hard time deciding which one would be better for me. The first ski is the Faction Prodigy 2.0 189cm with Look Pivot 12 Bindings, the second ski is the Head FrameWalls 181cm with Attack 13 Bindings. I am an intermediate park rider, riding majority medium to large size jumps, I occasionally also ride rails and am looking to get more into and improve my rail riding this season. The Heads are $250 cheaper than the Factions, both in barely used/ new condition.

These are my current options, if anyone has any recommendations feel free to throw them in as well!

Go for the factions, the heads are super stiff bland comp skis. I would also look into getting higher din bindings, you are a pretty big guy that will be pushing the upper limits of those din ranges.

the head are going to be wayyyyyy to short imho

Id go faction.

but you can find huge sales on 2020 model, I payed like 300? usd shipped with taxes here for my 189cm 2020 prodigy 2.0 189cm

If you want a ski that doesnt snap before the first season ends, id choose the heads over the factions. It ultimately comes down to your style though, if you dont plan on putting much pressure on your nose and tail then the factions should be fine. I own a pair of factions for backcountry and theyve held up pre well cuz powder is soft on them

Heads are probably more durable, but factions will be more fun. Personally I wouldn't really recommend either

There haven’t been many durability issues with the prodigy series. It was just the candides with issues.

My bad then, i knew abt the issues with the ct's but i thought it was across the whole brand

faction builds skis in multiple factories, and even on same productline you will have differences.

They seem to always make fun skis though.

Thanks for the input.

Either one of these skis will be a big jump for me. My last park skis were Solomon 159cms with I think 80 underfoot (I know very small for my size) so I think the 181cm 84 underfoot heads or the 189cm 95 underfoot factions will be a big jump from 159s?. If you have anymore comments please feel free to post them as I may pickup the heads because they are such a great price I can’t turn them down. If I end up going with the heads I will buy another pair of park skis with probably a wider underfoot (90+), given the information above, if anyone have any recommendations feel free to leave them below. ***Note*** I will be primarily looking at last seasons models as they are all on sale now. Thanks a lot guys!

If stiffness isn’t too much of a deal then I would maybe check out some Icelantic nomad 95s. They have really good durability and are good for rails. I’ve found some 19/20 pairs online for $400 USD

I'm your height and weight, I have the revolt 95s' which are fairly similar to the head framewall. they will feel like friggin snowblades. but if they are like 100-150? yeah why not.

also have the prodigy..

I feel like 181cm is too small but I don't know. I'm the same size and have never gone below 188. But maybe I'm missing out.

if you can manage it, your skis should always be longer than you are tall. with center mounting, the ski can be much longer than someone on a traditional mount because the shovel doesn't get too long to handle. i am about 167cm tall and ride park skis that are 175, 176, 178, 181, 182 and 185cm long, depending on what i am doing.

yeah you kind of get maxed out at about 185.. too bad more companies aren't making 190+ park skis.

honestly, do us tall folk really need a 190+ park ski? My Fatypus D sender 194s felt ungainly as all hell on rails but I also suck at rails.

noop, but 187-189 feels SO much sweeter. 4-5cm ekstra is naaajs to have.

my revolt 95 181cm yeah they ski long for that length but the noose you dont wanna land forward and when looking down its like having ski blades!
