Which ski and what length should I get?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a new pair of skis for this season. The two skis I've been looking at are the Armada ARV 96 and the Bent Chetler 100. I'm an advanced skier and I like to mostly ski off piste and do tree runs and the occasional mogul and park run. I'm wondering which one of these two skis would be better?

Also I am 172cm tall barefoot and 85kg so I'm also wondering what size skis I should get.

Thanks!

BC100 floats better for sure, but ARv96 is more fun on piste.

For your use and description I'd grav the BC100s.

those are good options, i agree that you should be looking for skis in that width and category

do you like soft, medium, stiff skis? based on your height vs weight, i'd advise something either medium or a little stiff. what were your last skis?

as for length, aim for your height. tree skier, advanced, a little heavy for your height. i'd be looking for something medium stiff so you it has plenty of backbone for you but you don't wish they were shorter in the trees

The last skis I had were Rossignol Exp 84 Ai but I felt that it wasn't wide enough and not really good for learning tricks. Would you say the ARV 96 is stiffer or the Bent Chetler 100?

cool well moving to some middle-of-the-road twins will def help you ski the stuff you said you like most compared to your last skis. sorry, i don't know much about the bent 100s so hopefully others will chime in on those but also you might want to read what the blister guys say about them and how they compare to skis they see as competitors to the bent 100:https://blisterreview.com/gear-reviews/2018-2019-atomic-bent-chetler-100

but im a huge fan of the arv96, i think it's one of the best do-it-all, medium in all the right ways, ski and it's a great value

I picked the bent chetler 100s for this year and we have the arv 96s in the shop I work at, I would say the chetlers are stiffer than the arvs except for maybe the tips of each feel pretty similar. The chetlers feel pretty sturdy in the tail and mid sections of the ski. I grabbed it for pretty much the same purpose as you're looking for
