Which shoes should I choose?

I'm starting to get into parkour/freerunning and my old New Balance 894's

are starting to get worn out from my aggressive training. The only reason I'm posting this here is because the site's forum for my local parkour/freerunning group is less than active. So here is what I'm trying to choose between:

Nike Freerun+

Nike-Free-Run-7.jpg

Pros: amazing flexibility, very light weight

Cons: They're $124 at my local store, unsure on how long the soles will last against the stuff I'll be doing.

5-10 Freerun

Pros: Almost unparalleled grip and durability, Much more inexpensive ($90)

Cons: Not sold locally anywhere in my city.

Vibram FiveFingers KSO

Pros: With my toes free, my balance would increase tenfold, super light weight, can stimulate and strengthen muscles that are otherwise not used in regular shoes.

Cons: Essentially a foot glove, no cushioning, would look kind of weird walking around in them. (price: $80)

So there you have it. I really need some opinions here, any and all are appreciated.

disclaimer: I have no experience with free running

either the nikes or the 5-10

the foot glove isnt really something i would see myself wearing outside of running if i just needed to throw some shoes on and get out the door

then i choose the 5-10 because grip seems like a pretty important thing and theyre less expensive

Dope shoe. My buddy has a pair, the only thing is that there is next to no support and he's worn through the the upper inside part of the shoe in 3 months of having them.

The 5-10s look dope, I have the nikes but I never knew they were for freerunning. Those nikes are super sick shoes though, I highly recommend them. I just bought them so I had a runner, they had them at sport chek when I worked there so they were mad cheap. I really like them though, comfy and they hold your heel really well.

my friend has those toe shoes and he wears them all the time. i don't have anything to add, but its just weird.

the nikes are pretty cool, but seriously if some guy told me he bought shoes specifically for jumping around on shit it'd be a huge turnoff. just sayin.

Well I'm not asking you out now am I? Besides, how could you complain about a guy who likes to stay physically fit through the art of efficiently moving from point A to point B?

I believe that qualifies as an 'oh snap!'.

I think I would like a shoe with a bigger overall surface area on the sole as that helps when I'm doing wall climbs.

im in the same situation as you im looking for new shoes for running and other outdoor sports, i already have underarmour cartilages but are starting to get worn out... my top two choices are freerun+'s or zigtechs

...augh...

There are bigger turnoffs than parkour which shouldn't be one at all...! C'mon, give a guy a break.

if some girl told a freerunner that she thought it was just jumping around on shit, it'd probably be a huge turnoff as well, so the world can continue as normal

Thank you and +K to both of you. I wouldn't try to make a first impression in my parkour gear, that comes on the 2nd or 3rd date as I backflip over you. Look this isn't about you or what makes your vajayjay purr, I'm just searching for parkour shoe advice.

Get the 5.10's. They're made specifically for freerunning, and the amount of grip all the shoes from 5.10 is insane. I've tried a pair of their biking shoes and it's ridiculous. You will never slip. Ever.

What would you do if a guy told you that he had bought boots specifically for jumping around on strips of fibreglass and frozen water and shit... Would that still be a huge turn off?. just sayin.

DONT GET THE NIKES!!!!!!!! i had a pair and while they were light and cumfortable, they wore out super fast. The stictching comes appart and the tops tear really easily. They would get destroyed from parkour

I'm usually training more of the parkour aspects so when I don't feel like doing a backflip them that is the right word to use.
