Which powder ski should I get?

I apologize if too much fun was poked on my behalf, I did not intend to so deeply offend, rather to incite a humorous elicitation amongst the readers.

In response to the S7 comment, I know a lot of people who absolutely love the shape. I cant speak for the ski itself, as last season I didnt get to do much skiing period, but I for sure want to take a pair of those out on a demo day.

 
you'll like the shape of the ski most likely, but other than that, you'll hate it compared to other pow skis..or at least i did. i liked the bent chetlers much more than the s7's, but personal preference always plays a huge factor in ones thought on a certain ski.

All of this is true. They are extraordinarily locked-in on hardpack due to the sidecut, but the pow turns vary more than you might think. Not in the chop, however.
 
check out the 2011 Seth, big improvement on prior years for pow performance (115 waist and serious rocker), I think you will like it, people saying it is a noodle I don't understand.

Forget about the Chopstick unless you do a ton of switch in pow, the symetrical sidecut is going to hurt you on hardpack/variable conditions, think about having tails that wide and how it will affect your turning, not going to be fun at all, you want a directional sidecut for sure from what you have said. Since you are in NZ I assume you want to buy a ski asap for this season, so look at brands you can get easily there.
 
Also, what are the Line Motherships like?

I no they are a charging ski but how do they ski in the powder?

New Seths are no lighter, supposedly stiffer, but they are still soft as fuck. I don't understand K2's reluctance to make a ski that is not extremely soft.

Motherships are great skis. They have a bit of early rise to help keep the tips up and will blast through anything in front of them whether it is crud, cut up pow, small children, or pow. It is a stiff ski for sure, so if you're not on top of it, it's going to punish you.
 
They are a bit stiffer yea (seths) and they are a bit wider, and have tail rocker now and hellbent tip rocker. A patroller at my hill is sponsored by k2 so he was on the obseths pretty much the whole year and he said he loved them. But he had the 179 and said they ski'd a little to short. So if you are thinking of the seths get the 189 fo sho. Lots of patrollers said it is the perfect work ski. So if you are looking for a do anything ski the seth will def be it. The bibby is kind of similar in dimensions but the seth will probably be a bit more responsive.
