Hello guys,

I have been wondering which off piste/freeride ski i should buy this year, what do you think?

If you have some experience with some skis, please reply to this thread!

Thank a lot, hope you can help me out of my situation!

My height: 173 cm

Right now i am also skiing on Armada Al Dente (parkski)

Right now I am interested in the candide 4.0, Armada JJ and Volkl two. Do some of you have experience with those skis?

Price: max. 470 dollars

Thanks alot. Any other replies?

I personally ride the line mr pollard opus. It's by far the funniest ski that I have ever owned and I plan on getting a second pair for when my other ones break.

Don't want to steal the thread, but Im also looking for a free ride ski. My first choice is the wrenegade 112 and my next is the hoji. Im like 5'8 140 pounds and a good skier. Will be using for big mtn and some comps. I have a max budget of like 450 with bindings. Any suggestions or info? thanks

Two good skis but they ski different. Wrenegade needs to be driven, Hoji wants a centered stance that responds to rolling your weight around.

What sort of style are you into, how much do you weigh and where do you ski for a start?

I have a true pair of freeride skis (192 Dynastar Legend Pro 105s) and they are trucks, theres not a lot that can be put in their way and they love to be driven. They do ok in the harder stuff and on the piste, but to be honest in the harder stuff my narrower skis destroy them (Kastle MX88's). The narrower waist is much nicer in anything thats not fresh snow or hucking drops. The tail of the Dynastars is a very nice landing platform for my fat ass.

Have you skied either?

I've skied both and cobra's description is pretty damn good. Both will fuck you over if you're backseat at all. The wrenegades handled better at all speeds I thought. Hoji sucks until you get it up to speed imo.

Have you ridden the Bill goats?

no. But by looking by the profile I can tell you that they won't charge as hard. They definitely aren't a hardpack ski...

So when you say backseat on the wrens, you mean you can't ski them backseat or they aren't forgiving or what? I don't ride backseat but if I ever land backseat I don't want to get REKT.

I don't comment on skis I don't have time on. If I do, it will be clearly stated as conjecture.

Alright most people like to give input on skis tho, even if they ride them or not, I'm even guilty of that.
