So, which of these resorts would you choose for a season and why? This is kinda a big deal b/c it will help influence where I'm spending my next season. And as of now, it is limited to these resorts.

-Heavenly at tahoe

-Northstar at tahoe

-Mammoth, CA

-Big Sky, MT

-Telluride, CO

-Snowbird, UT

-Wolf Creek, CO

-Schweitzer, ID

Well, lets hear it.

MAMMOTH!!

northstar isnt that fun inless you hate hitting good jumps and love skiing a flat mountain

I ski everything. I love to rip park but I also love pow and big mtn. it kinda depends on the snow. it it's pow, i won't touch the park, but on sunny average days, it's all park.

Thanks for the replies. more please.

like I said, that list is my current prospects. it doesn't so much to do with personal choices, it's just where I have job prospects.

If it's pow, go Snowbird. I'm not sure how their parks are this coming season, I've heard (maybe I'm wrong) that a park is going... I'm not sure what's staying or what's new.

Mammoth is pretty sick, I'm not so sure about those two Tahoe resorts though.

I guess you're looking for an all-round resort...

You in San Fran? I got a friend moving there next year, how far from Tahoe? I'm too lazy to look it up

I'm sure Tahoe would be pretty convenient for you... a few hours from home? IDK. I'm staying up late too on the WC

well i'm biased since i live in big sky, and have never been to any of those other areas. but, for what its worth, i really like big sky. the skiing is rad- tons of terrain, lots of gnar, usually good snow (last winter was a little rough but two winters ago was EPIC), no lift lines, pretty chill laid back feel, sweet smoke shacks (if your into that sort of thing...). the area is killer for scenery, hiking, wildlife, that sort of thing. i hear people bitch about the park alot- i really don't ski too much park so i wouldn't know, though i do enjoy laps through the small park. theyre putting a new lift in this summer. i don't know. its a pretty good time around here in the winter.

snowbird for terrain..big sky for terrain and less people...mammoth for park...but dude...if i were i'd check revelstoke or whitewater if you want sick terrain and no people along with amazing pow...all those resorts you picked are crowded except for schweitzer...

basically. I heard that mammoth has ok runs as well as the amazing park, but i've never skied any of those choices.

Snowbird has the pow, but i bet you've already heard everything like that.

Dude, Mammoth. I live in utah, and its sick, but you wanna live at the resort, and here, if you live in LCC, the park situation is fucked. Plus mammoth has a longer season, more of a vibe and many more womens...If I was not going to school and had to pick a spot it would be mammoth or whistler(except whistler rains out alot).

I grew up skiing wolf creek and it is really sick too. Way low key. If you want to not involve yourself in the industry and just shred alot, thats a good prospect. Not alot of park there I don't think. Haven't skied there since 06 though so I dunno...

telluride and wolf creek are both legit areas to ski but pagosa and telluride town are both mad bunk dude, theres nothing there, id say come out for some trips but go work at mt baker or something in washington, but if you cant do that than tahoe

WOLF CREEK, over 500 inches a year!! POWDER ALL WINTER!!!! They have this section of the mountain called "the water falls" Mad crazy cliff drops!!!!

This is a pic of Wolf Creek Colorado, the base is like 10,350ft.

maybe im missing something here but cant u just get a job at heavenly and ski all that tahoe has to offer? i heard alpine has cheap passes and epic terrain, as well as some fine park features. id go there..or mammoth, for obvious reasons

I'd say to get a job at Squaw. If your at Squaw, you have a huge unlimited mountain and access to all the resorts in the Tahoe area. Theres also gambling and Reno is close.

Wolf Creek doesn't have a park, or a town, so you would have at least a 20 minute+ commute on dry days. Heavenly and NStar lack terrain and have sub par parks. Out of your choices definetly go with Mammoth, the best park in CA and is definetly underrated for terrain.

snowbird is one of my favorite resorts. super fun when there's good snow. slc is a decent town, park city not super far away for a fun park.

heavenly and n* both suck sooo bad. long ass lines, tons of tourists, no terrain whatsoever, and ok parks. if you want to be in tahoe (amazing), lobby for a job at alpine or squaw.

big sky is dope. inconsistent snow, no town, park?

mammoth = off the charts. gnarly park, decent terrain, tons of hotties, good vibe, sun out the ass, drive to the coast if you want. yada yada yada... go to mammoth.

Snowbird. Hook up with someone from NS who knows the resort and you can't beat it. If you just want to hit the park, go elsewhere.

And you'll also get to demo some Bluehouses, and maybe even get to know the guys there.

I'd say Snowbird or Mammoth, or Squaw but you haven't heard from them.

if your lookin to be a major ski bum, alfs restaurant at Alta has employee housing for their ful time employees...you ski every day...you live on the mountain..there's no commuting necessary..you get a free pass...it's only like $430 a month to live up there..that includes utilities, living, food (you get unlimited food, any kind you want) and the works not too bad...you should check it out on their website....it was defintiely the best winter of my life

thanks but i'm not really looking for a ski bum job. i'm looking for semi-professional experience. That does sound like a sick job though
