I am either getting the dell 6000 or 9300. I would put the exact same stuff in either comp. the 600 has a 15.4in screen, but the 9300 has 17 high quality screen and good speackers (for a laptop) and is about $200 =300 more.

get the bigger screen, its better for watching dvd's on long car trips (if you dont already have a dvd player in your car.)

i just got my 700m yesterday and i love it to death. its so light and everything and super fast too. and the screen in amazing. haha but yea if i were u i would go for the 6000, because thats alredy close to 10 pounds the 9300 is utleast that. but if you need more help deciding i would go to www.notebookforums.com

like 8 of my friends have the 6000. The speakers in it are pretty good and I don't know about you but I want my laptop to be portable and 17 inch laptops are pretty gigantic.

Are you totally set with dell? I know everyone is gonna say "Get a mac stupid" and I'm gonna agree with that. I got a powerbook and I really like it.

i have a new viao laptop that is pretty big, with tons of power. if i was going to get another one i would have gone with a smaller one.

 
I thought I would use my computer all the time in college and I only use it to write papers and look at e-mail save money on whatever you can.

 
. . . . thats just it, your playing halo and warcraft. 2 games that are fun at first but suck afterwards. Any good computer game is for the PC

Been there, done that. It still crashed because Windows is a giant mess of garbled code and can't multitask worth shit. And I'm sorry, but if if I have to patch my computer every fucking day to fix the new "security issue" that has come, something's wrong. It's kind of like having a car, but having to bring that car back to the dealer every day. One day to get the brakes they forgot to install, one day to get a gas pedal, another day to get door locks, and yet again to get a security system. It's fucking ridiculous and it shows a lack of effort and/or care on the part of the people you PAY to make sure your computer works. And it's not limited to the operating system either. I can't count the number of times I've had shit go bad with hardware. From harddrives to ram to fans to power supplies to anything else you can think of, if it can somehow break on a PC, I've broken it.

4 years of university, 2 summers of high end client support, and interning at a software company have taught me a few things about computers. I can sum them up with "macs are better, and computer games are for fags". Yes, there are tons of software people who use wintel boxes for their everyday work, but the head IT guy and CTO (that's Chief Technology Officer, IE "I oversee ALL the tech stuff for whatever company I work for)run everything off their Apple Powerbooks. That's saying something.

Arguing about PC and Macs. So hot right now. And did someone really suggest getting a Mac to help you get laid? Good luck.

Back to the guy's question, if you're going to be carrying it around, get the smaller one, otherwise get the bigger one, simple as that. The bigger screen will make a huge difference.

well dude look at it this way Macs really arnt made for games but u can use them for games and they still work great but my comp is made just for games but i dont play anymore games i use to play d2 and cs but i dont cause i got to addicted my computer works fine not playing games but i knew people who i played d2 and cs with and they had mac and they didnt lag at all or nothing so i think macs are good but if u really want to play all those games u mentioned either build one or just buy a alian cause they are a godly gaming computer pre-built for u

i am on a 9300 right now and yes i'd suggest getting htis one, it's fucking tight. you can still fit it in your backpack just fine, i'd say it's worth the extra $, and the speakers sound nicer
