Which is better? Session 1242 or Teddybear Crisis, or neither?

I just saw TBC and it was way sick, impressed me even though it's a few years old, one of the best ski vids i've ever seen

neither is better because they were both the best of their time. 1242 was sick because of all the progression of the sport at that time. TBC was sick because, well, it was just sick. i would say 1242 IMO because that is what made me so stoked on skiing. TBC was just icing on the cake for me.

1242. Peps segment is by far one of the best segments ever. Tanner kills it. Numerous others who just go off.

TBC is just as good but has a few more flaws.

they are both amazing but I am going to have to go with TBC because I didn't even take ski movies seriously until it came out.

teddy bear crisis is the first ski movie ive ever seen, so it really stands out in my mind. but still after all these years i never get tired of that movie

not 1242 cause seth's segment sucked.

although pep's was amazing, all of TBC's awesomeness made up for it putting in out front.

If you try to compare the two, albeit not really fair, TBC is probably the better movie. 1242 at its time was just insane (i still remember the premier for that shit in seattle). The soundtrack was killer as well as some of the skiing, Peps segment in particular was ages ahead of its time, with tanner, jon, philou, jf, jp killing it. But, the little big mountain segment in the middle really acts like a big sore because it was largely recycled footage. While it may have been faster big mtn action, it was largely forgettable, except that the movie could have been considerably more had it had true big mountain filmed explicitly for the movie.

TBC was great because once again music was great, the cohesion was nice, content was nice though. (although with its little pitfalls too), the blending of segments was excellent, and some absolutely amazing segments (or just really well made ones) emerged, as well as a unique and strange intro that really sets it apart from other ski flicks.

Even though I'm not a big ski movie fan these days, both movies kick ass, but TBC has a quality, while largely intangible, puts it above 1242.

im gonna go with 1242 just because all the athletes charged hardcore, boyd was hilarious, and the bonus features are some the best ive seen ever. also, the soundtrack kicked ass. TBC was sick nasty and really well put together, but it just didnt get me as pumped to ski as 1242 did.

1242 was incredible for it's time. Teddybear crisis was also incredible but wasn't as groundbreaking as 1242.

Long Story Short is my number one.... but between the two I'm going TBC. Tanner's segment in that is one of my absolutely favorites, ever. Pep's in 1242 is dope, but there's just something about T$'s.

1242 had was ahead of its time in terms of skiing; TBC was ahead of its time in terms of filmmaking.

teddybear crisis, HUGE jumps, brought a style of editing that was completely fresh to the ski movie scene. wilson's best part, brought some of the euros to the public eye. IMO is just as goundbreaking as 1242 from a film aspect.

TBC, one of the films I can watch all the way through without wanting to change anything (Shots, editing, music, etc) 1242 was bonerific still, but I jsut enjoyed TBC way more.

1242 is one of my all time favorite ski movies. It just plain rocks. Al the segments were dirrty for there tie, hell I would love to be able to throw some of the tricks in that vid. Everyone else agrees that Pep's seg was outstanding and the music was ill. As for TBC the segs were sick and you can def see the progression in skiing, but some of the were jsut too short and I didn't like how it all flowed together. Maybe ya'll aht eon me for this next comment, but I didn't really understand the "Teddy Bear Crisis" and the opening segment. If someone can enlighten me that would be great.

Overall 1242 will always stand out as one of the top ski movies.
