U.S. wihtout a doubt. it all comes down to who would win in a war. without a doubt us. it reminds me of some forward i got.

canda felt americas sorrow after sept 11 and pledged to contribute to the american forces in afganistan. they offered 800 men, 20 jet fighters, and two of their greatest battel ships. althougth when it was translated it came out to be:

800men= 2 mounties

20 jet fighters= flock of geese

2 ships= 2 canoes

 
I just want to say last time there was one of these talks, there was a huge fight, and a bunch of people got pissed at each other, but we got to hear great long posts by WJBSKI and someone else (g-dubs maybe) so I'm staying out of this one. No flame attacks involving me.

I don't want to get into a stupid arguement, but Canada was voted the best country to live in like three years running.

 
Canada is way better than the States (i say this as unbias as possible). I'm not saying that the states suck. but look at it this way. The states are the most powerful country in the world....what does that get you? A bunch of grumpy extremists killing thousands of people....and than war. There are a lot of people in the states who live in poverty even though you it's the richest country in the world. Everyone is sue happy and now there are all these laws and everyone are essencially treated like little kids who can't take care of themselves.

Now look at Canada. Sure, we might be poor, but the majority of Canadians are preaty good financially within the country itself. Along with Switzerland we are a peace keeping counrty, so really, we don't need a stong defence system, because we have no real threats.....yet, that might change in the next few year, who knows. Ya sure, Canada might be almost completely dependant on the States to survive (most of our products are imported from our neighbour to the south, if someone WERE to invade Canada, the US would have our back, and well...Canadians are sissy's politicaly) but we are a good, clean country to live in. Canada makes better skiers, and we have Tim Hortons.

I guess that was really, really bias....oh well, I'm proud to be Canadian. Sorry if I really offended you there, I wasn't trying to put down the states at all, just saying I think Canada is better.

Canada is so cool, the only thing that i dont like is the money. haha it looks like play money, but thats because im not used to it. I like US roads and stoplights better, and i like measuring gas in gallons and not liters. But other than that, canada is the shit!

id have to say that its all relative, and whoever said that it all comes down to who would win in a war is, well, to put it mildly, a fucking idiot. Basically ur saying the country that is most well equipped to kill ppl is best, makes loads of sense doesnt it... The states isnt a bad country to live in but they sure fuck over a lot of other ppl; i think that canada is better cuz u are allowed to question government and atuhority without being totally attacked like u are in the states

Billy - I never really gave an answer...i gave 1 good thing about the usa (good defense) and one good thing about canada (free health care).

buuut....how many times has the United Nations voted canada as the best place in the world to live? I can think of 3 times for sure in the last 5 years. I believe the US sits somewhere around 9th on the list. Sooooo...ya.

 
pesonally I think Canada has the better roads (well....most of Canada - Quebec has unreal roads), trafic lights (you go to an interesection in New York and there are like fifty thousands signs and lights, it's just downright confusing), and we have better looking money (with american money you gotta look deep inside the darkness of your wallet to make sure you pull out a 1 instead of a 50...unlike canada where you just look for the corresponding colour)....and we have two dollar coins.

Canada is a damn good country. and i'm not gonna really pick one of them because I bleieve that nationalism leads to ate, which leads to violence, and the cycle just keeps going.

Yeah, I would have to aggree with SkierX that Canada does rule, and so do many other contries. But I wouldn't list the US on the top of my list for the simple reason that since I live here I see all the bad parts of it. It would be pretty cool to live in Switzerland, the alps, their neutral and don't fight in wars, and it's in euroupe.
