Which foot forward?

when i go on boxes i dont know which foot to put in front. I skate and surf regular, but my stronger foot is my right foot. Which foot should i put forward?

try boot grinds on a pvc rail with some lube (teflon is more slippery than ice)

That'l help you get your weight exactly where it needs to be and will help you lear n to put either foot forward. also try doing rails one day, resting for two days, and see if you improve from the first day. a lot of your problem is mental and/or muscle memory. just keep at it

im my case i write with right hand, lead with my right foot.. they probably have nothing to do with each other, but whatever

Stand with your feet even. Have someone push you forward a bit and see which foot you step forward with most often. So if you step forward more with your right foot, then it would seem right that you'd slide rails with your right foot.

i skate regular, slide rails regular. i guess its from doing 5050s on rails skating, so i just naturally went with that. goal for this year is to get comfy sliding goofy.

yeah i spin right on jumps (i guess im a minority) and do the same onto rails, but im working on left as well, u basically want it so it doesnt matter

they say that about snowboarding/skating and wakeboarding, however I snowboard/wake left foot forward and slide rails dominantly right foot forward, just learned unnatural, feels weird at first but isnt hard... do both

run full speed and jump onto a skateboard that is not moving, youll figure out which foot forward you can balance on the board and whch one you can't, once you got that go hit some rails.

Idk i snowboard regular and I slide rails left-foot forward naturally. It seems that most people who snowboard regular slide rails with the right-foot-forward.

Try doing a 90-180 degree spin on the ground without your skis on.... if you spin to the left, your right foot forward. Spin the the right... left foot forward. Pretty simple

I GOT IT, JUST TRY A RAIL OR BOX AND TRY EACH FOOT FORWARD ABOUT 5 times each and tell me which on works

try it and you will know which way to go.

in my opinion it has more to do with the natural spinning direction.

i.m.o. the natural leading foot on rails comes with the natural spinning direction, not the other way round.

Thats actually the best thing to do. You're probably going to eat shit either way the first couple times.

But it's actually a very good thing that you don't know. That makes it 10 times easier to learn both ways, and become a well rounded skier.

yeah for reals, thats how I learned just hit it and your going to fall your first few times no matter what but you'll get comfortable with a certain style or foot forward.

yeah man i skate regular, but slide with right foot forward

you just gotta try both ways and figure it out.

i tried that my first attempt on a rail and it ended up being the wrong way and i landed on my head. just go on a small box/rail and try each way. whichever way you are more comfortable with is the way to go

Do what I did, learn both ways... I mean it's the same exact technique and way of doing it no matter which foot is forward.

i kick w/my right and slide w/my left foot foward. but im learning to go w/my right foot foward but i fucking suck at it.
