Which fat skis?

I'm looking to buy some fat skis that go well in the deep stuff, but can also ride on soft pack and in the park. I'm thinking something like seth vicious, motherships, ARV's something like that. What is best?

I'm 6'2, 165 pounds

any of those skis will be a good choice. you can't really go wrong. But i would stay away from any salomon bindings under a S916. Looks/rossis are always reliable.

thats exactly what i wanted them for too, and the shop i got them at had all of those skis and reccomended the ARV's..but thats also because im light and the vicious might be a little stiff for me

if you want a ski that will perform awsome in pow, and then also rock the park and kickers, go with the ARV or Mothership. those are two of the best all arounders available.

keep in mind, if you do any big mountain, those are gonna be pretty floppy.

I have pocket rockets right now, but if I was to buy another fat ski I'd get the scratch BC's with some P12's. I like rossignol and I've come to believe that it is dangerous to ski on salomon bindings with how often they randomly release.

salomon makes good bindings, if you get the higher level ones. You are all complaining because you had some shitty 810s once upon a time, seth skis the 916, and it works greatr for him, and i have 912s and they have worked fine.

I've had two sets of the 912's and have blown both out within about 30 days of skiing, so I switched to a company that works better for me.

All three of the skis you mentioned are sweet and you won't notice a performance difference between Look or Salomon 12 din bindings especially not at 165. Don't get high din bindings for soft skis you'll never load up the toe enough to come out when your tomohawking 100 yards because the tip will bend instead.

arv's are gunna be an awesome all around ski that you can just use in anything so i would go with them and maybe a p12 or p14 or power 120 or power 140 binding and voila, maybe even some tyrollias i love those ones.

pollard 186cm wit look px12Ti's...sickest setup for everything...relatively light, stifffff, lots of pop, and fat enough fro everything

i think maidens and elizabeths are a bit to wide for me, i only really get to ski deep powder when im on holidays, so i want something a bit thinner that goes well on hardpack

Check out the Fischer Kehua or the Atua...

Kehua is a 177cm with a 92mm waist and the Atua is a 186cm ski with a 96mm waist.

my vote goes to the Seth Vicious, I have 'em and will be skiing them this Friday, I let you know how they feel.

i havent ridden them, but the elizabeths sound pretty good for waht you are looking for. they maybe be wide but they are short and have lots of sidecut so they could be good. im thinking of getting a pair or getting the vicious

^ yeah iv ridden my brothers moships, they fucking rock. but i havnt really skied any other skis similar to them, so i didnt know if maybe the vicious or something was better

i'm the same height, about 30 pounds heavier and ski the same shit you do. I picked up the arv's about a week ago.

ive got '06 gun with the scratch 140 ti bindings. i dont know why im posting this, bc most people on this site are anti salomon skis, but whatever, i dig em
