Which car commercial is more American

god, the first commercial is the dumbest ad i have ever seen

remind me to never buy a challenger (not that i ever would)

i am not mad. i drive a toyota. american cars are good too. but thats not the point of this thread. like i said no hate...

thats impossible. you cant race a supra,

everyone knows the toyota supra, of any year or model, is the fastest production car ever made. they have infity^10 wheel-HP,

100,0000,000 ft-lbs of torque, and a top speed of "holy fucking shit"

American muscle FTW.

1st is most american, 2nd is fastest car i'v driven /claim, 3rd i literally cried the first time i saw it because it was so awesome

if you really want to show what is amarican. All you need is a fat ass sitting on a sofa with a beer in one hand and a gun in the other watching football! Now thats amarica. FUCK YA!!!!

coming from someone who has owned 4 different german cars and nothing else, american cars are legit. american car companies are some of the only ones out there still making sports cars that arent completely watered down and numb. not many car companies still make true sports cars, but the americans still are. the corvette is legit as fuck. they are simple, built like a tank, handle extremely well, very well balanced, etc... better than sooo many european cars costing more than twice as much.
and dont even try comparing the GTR to a real sports car, its a joke, its for people who are willing to spend 80 grand on a car but not willing to learn how to drive. ive driven one, and i was able to drive it very fast. and it takes no driver involvement, its like playing a video game. and the STI and EVO? they used to be legit, but now they are just a mistake, numb, and boring.
and the top gear guys love american cars. not that their opinions are always that good...

the Z06 is still fast as hell, even the c6 is extremely good for the money, i wouldnt call either a piece of shit, the GTR is nice example of a POS

well atleast it is in the right direction in styling-wise, vs the continued ricing of vehicles that i see everywhere particularly in this community lol

*dyno* and I do not believe that at all, unless its a dynojet but even as high as they read thats still rediculous

The first one for sure.... but honestly that last commercial is one of the greatest commercials ever.

it has a 1970 lt1 motor...

from wiki

The LT-1 was the ultimate 350 cu in (5.7 L) V8, becoming available in 1970. It used solid lifters, 11:1 compression, a high-performance camshaft, and a 780 CFM Holley four-barrel carburetor on a special aluminum intake with ramhorn exhaust manifolds and a low-restriction exhaust to produce a factory rated 370 hp (276 kW) (the NHRA rated it at 425 hp for classification purposes) and 380 lb·ft (515 N·m).

sorry bro, they dont build em how they used too, between the gearing and 3 speed auto and 5500 lbs its not all that fast to be honest

yeah, the farmer that owned the truck blew up the first 350 at some point and swapped it in

i guess even farmers like going kinda fast haha

lol not even close, ill admit it performs well for the money, but for anyone who actually knows how to drive its pathetic. if all you care about is numbers rather than how the car actually drives, then its great, otherwise it blows.

I agree that the fact its paddleshifters isnt that sweet...but i will outdrive you in a GTR any day of the week

under 80 my ass- try $105,000 easy

and in that price range the new 911 turbo s would shit on anything- including the ZR1
8 seconds faster around the nurburgring bitches

its not just the paddle shifters, the car does not let you control it, any mistake you make or imperfections in your driving are "fixed" by the car. I was able to drive one on a track when i was instructing someone on a track day. it wasnt my car so i couldnt push it super hard, but i still got to reach its limits and your basically just turning the wheel and letting the car do everything else for you. i can find better sports cars for 3,000 dollars.I can never understand why people are so concerned with numbers, some of the best sports cars in the world are slow as shit. some of the worst sports cars in the world are fast as shit. numbers dont = good car.

Best post on here about sports cars. The greatest sports car imo is the BMW E30 M3. Much slower than modern sports cars.

You have to understand the history of each sports car and what type of racing their companies were involved in. In America "racing" was mostly on a drag strip or an oval track dating back to the early 1990's. That is why "American sports cars" are the Corvette and Challenger. In Europe cars were raced on country roads and in between towns that is why Porsche and other European companies have very well balanced cars for dealing with slip angles. Basically a 2011 vette has the possibilty to losing to an old 911 on a winding course because thats not what there made for. If the corvette was ever made like the 911 it would no longer be a vette and would be a stupid car because it lost all of its history.

ill still agree that its a great value, just because its alot faster than most cars in that price range. but if your willing to spend 80 grand on a car, it seems pretty silly to not be willing to learn how to drive it. the type of people who the GTR appeals to seems to be these shitty drivers who just want something with good looking numbers but have no idea what a good car feels/drives like or how to drive it. there are cars under 10 grand that id much rather have.
