Which Armada ski to go with? AR7 or Alpha 1?

Hi out there!
I've been living in Hemsedal, Norway this season, and decided it's time to get some new park skis!Right now I ride the StepUp 177 from Line, but they have had their time now.
My problem is that I can't find the difference between those two skis, and I can't figure out which one to go with! I need my park ski to be light weighted, so I can do some spins and flips. Mostly I do my tricks on the medium jumps and kickers - I do jump the big kickers, but I need some more practice before I will be spinning of them :)
Can you please help me and tell which one to go with? Both seems great. - I should mention that I ONLY ride the park, never out of park!
Thank you!
Jesper, Hemsedal

no problem dude. welcome to NS.

i wish i had advice to offer as to the skis. as far as i know, the Alpha 1s are rockered which will give you added playfulness on rails, easier butters, etc.. but you might lose stability on medium to large jumps.

The Ar7s are going to be more stable on the bigger jumps because they are a traditionally cambered ski. The Alpha 1s are going to be more forgiving and playful, have a lower swing weight and will be easier to butter.

I would go with the Ar7, it is a more versatile ski that not only destroys the park but kills it everywhere else as well.

durable as hell, great for rails they hold up really well. good for butters and are playful they arent great for anything bigger than meduim jumps. they are pretty slow though.

I got my mind on AR7 just now! But there's no way in hell I can find them on any european website right now :(I'm 182cm - which length should I get?

Im currently rocking the Alpha 1, its an awesome butter and rail ski. Does everything super well, and the early rise in the tip and tail rock for butters. But my fav moves are butter 5's and 7's. They do well on medium size jumps when you are landing forward, but on bigger jumps the tails flex out on me a bit. Im 210lbs though. But landing switch on the medium and large jumps is easy breezy on these; the tips are stiffer than the tails.

They feel soooooo f***ing light its crazy. I have them mounted up with Rossi FKS 14's, but they spinn crazy easy and go invert great too. All in all if I had my way armada should just stiffen the tail a hair and the ski would be perfect, but its still sick.

Hope this helps

would go with the 181cm. I had some AR6's this season (wrecked them). I'm about 186cm, 170lbs. They were an amazing ski. I can only imagine that the AR7 would be even better.

yeah definitely go with the 181s you dont want to be going much shorter than you are well at least thats what i find i ride a 176 ar7 and am 5"9

Personally, I'd go with the Alphas simply because they are more geared toward the park. Considering that's ALL you ski, the rocker is going to help and they will be fine on the jumps you are doing. The rocker will also help a lot with spinning and you'll be less likely to catch an edge. The AR7 is an amazing ski, however, and I've heard nothing but good things about it. It doesn't have a race base which means you'll have to wax it less but it won't be as fast as the Alpha.
