Which are easier? Backflips or Lincoln Loops?

if you have a good jump for learning them, they are both really easy if you commit to it

i learned lincolns and backflips at the same time, they were both super fun and easy

question about lincolns- so on the tramp sometimes i land em, but sometimes ill kinda do like a lincoln loop with a 90 degree spin at the end. anyone else have this problem?

Link and loops. You just gotta make sure you french fry on your landing, but then pizza before the trees. If you french fry when you're supposed to pizza, you're GONNA HAVE A BAD TIME.

youre probably just really used to mistys so when you huck a lincoln loop, that extra bit of spin naturally comes in. focus on staying straight and not turning your head around, but cocking it sideways

Well backflips are as easy as it gets, so if Lincoln's are easier than that I guess anyone can do them. I don't know why, but I've never even really thought about trying one. They look fun though, so I guess that's what I'm doing this week.

i think they are both pretty easy but i think lincolin's are easier to learn, but i do the same 90 degree thing. you just have to focus on your spin.

hey dude i know your problem. i started doin these off of a diving board. i would throw my left should down, and end up looking to the right after i did my lincoln loop...or did like a little 90 degree turn thing. but i figured out that i just needed to make sure that when i threw my shoulder down that i wasnt throwing it forward at all. your shoulder should come down even with your waist. almost try to throw it back behind your hip a little bit, and if you do then you will come out straight. it will feel wierd at first but trust me it works. hope that made sense

I was trying them for the first time on snow the other day, and i kept doing lincon 3's or 90's but then what i did was pick a point in the distance and keep looking at that point, and let the ground go up and around and when it comes back down get ready to land.

i dont think that its not dropping the shoulder enough, but dropping it too forwards. that was my problem for a while, i would drop it basically in front of my waist which makes you do the 90. instead, you need to drop it going straight towards your hip. helps if you 'try' to drop it behind your hip because you will actually go straight down and come out straight

its weird, if i loop right, like my right foot goes over first, I do this, but if i loop left, then i just land with no spin

well today when i was standing on the lip of my jump deciding either to try a lincon or backie i chose the backie, and it was not hard haha,,,, but thats just me i think its 100% personal go with what you want

Backs are super easy. lean back and stretch your neck back, when u see the ground come around put ur legs out to catch the landing. I think backs are easier than even a straight 540. pretty much anything off axis is easier than its straight counter part. cork 5 easier than straight 5. ect ect

i disagree that corks are easier than straigh spins.

i have yet to cork things but i can do sevens no problem

i havent given corks a solid effort yet tho...

BACKFLIPS! lincon loops are more techincal, backflip is all about commiting, but i guess it also depends on which you do more off the snow, like on trampolines or on the ground, if you can backflip off the ground, then backflip will be way easier, but if your a side fliping lincoln loop master on tramp, then maybe lincolns will be easier.

for w/e reason i have a real skate style to my spins making things look too stiff. but when i throw corks it all smooths out and looks much more stylish. now i prefer to cork 5 everything i hit and just fakie 1 or 5 to switch. but thats just me. corking to me is as easy as punching your boots. slightly lean back and take your right fist and throw it across your body down towards the outside of your left boot. and bwamo you got a cork 5. LoL

my friend learned lincolns first and soon after front flips and soon after that backflips so theyre all easy just throw what ever you try hard.

thanks for the advice

hopefully i get them going this year, im pretty confident in my skiing, i just have to start.

i always get so stoked on what im doing i dont want to do other stuff haha

first day tomorrow!!

np man. few pieces of advice i deff think should be said are this: wear a helmet you dont want your brains in display for the Noobs sitting on the side of jumps. and commit. this is not a cheapo relationship, if you dont commit you'll end up flailing mid spin and regreting it all together. Good Luck!

I love lincoln loops they are soo much fun. Here's a little tip i learned to keeping a good loop. Stick your elbows out, not in front of you but from your sides. As soon as you come off the lip or off a tramp, diving board, etc turn your head and make it so your trying to touch your shoulder with your ear. Tuck and Huck. as long as you keep the motion of your ear trying to touch your shuolder you shuold be fine because your head and sohulder dictate how you spin or flip. So as long as your head and shuolders are flipping or spining the right way you shuold stay on axis of your flip or spin.

^thanks yeah that def makes a lot of sense. gonna have to try that on the tramp. the whole throwing the shoulder in "back" of the hips makes sense too. i think i was not throwing it perfectly sideways.

thanks for all the tips guys, can't wait to get some powder now

i landed it first try off a shitty bump on a boulder into some powder. just go ear to shoulder and bring the knees up. it's easy to huck the rotation hard and bring it around. and there's not much of a chance to land on your head, so if something goes wrong you'll probably land on your side. it's all good.
