Wheres the snow?

Whats up guys

So Im from Michigan and have family outside of Denver. Ive been to Colorado a million times but have been too busy to keep up with the current conditions. Im thinking about flying out January 5th and coming out for 5 days. I have possible places to stay in Aspen and WP.

Ive been to summit county too many times. Never been to aspen or A-basin though.

I guess ultimately Im asking wheres the best place to ski right now? I know snow levels are pretty low.

Supposed to be snowy for the next week and until new years and hopefully will remain so after that, looks like a repeat of November where it was dry then dumped 4+ft towards the end of the month. A basin is planning on opening up the backside before xmas I think, so all the terrain should be open. On pow days stay away from keystone and breck on weekends, A basin is awesome, more of a locals mountain and isn't to crowded. Even during mid season weekend pow days its manageable. Vail is huge so its possible to kind of escape the crowds and find some fun stuff if everything is open which it should be after this cycle of storms forecasted.

Thanks my man. Ive heard only great things about A-Basin. Im staying 40 minutes from WP, so ill be there for at least a day. I know steamboat is tangible driving distance from there, is that a must go to? Never been and ive heard great things about the tree skiing

I ended up getting a place at winter park. It was most convenient and cheapest. Does anyone know when the cirque usually opens? Ive been to WP twice and havent gotten the chance to ride it. Ill be there the 2nd to the 8th of January.
